We are recruiting a senior leader to drive integrated marketing for Oncology, supporting MUSC Hollings Cancer Center during a period of unprecedented growth and transformation.

As the state's only National Cancer Institute-designated cancer center, Hollings is home to groundbreaking research, innovative clinical trials, and leaders in complex cancer care. Your work will help elevate programs and discoveries that impact patients across our region.

MUSC is advancing plans for new state-of-the-art comprehensive cancer hospital in downtown Charleston, designed to centralize care, expand access to advanced treatments, and accelerate research-while anchoring a broader statewide cancer network with new facilities currently planned and opening across South Carolina.

This role will be instrumental in shaping how MUSC tells its oncology story-translating innovation in clinical care, research, and access into compelling campaigns that drive awareness, growth, and impact.

We are seeking a seasoned leader to drive integrated marketing for Oncology.

From cutting-edge treatments and innovative clinical trials to leading experts managing complex cancer cases, MUSC Hollings Cancer Center offers cancer care that is unmatched in South Carolina. At the forefront of cancer research, Hollings is one of only 73 National Cancer Institute-designated cancer centers in the nation-and the only one in South Carolina. This distinction reflects a deep commitment to advancing science and translating discoveries into meaningful outcomes for patients and families. Our research fuels medical innovation, strengthens education for health care professionals and the public, and expands outreach to underserved communities across the state.

We are looking for a seasoned marketer to lead oncology-focused marketing efforts. This senior leader will serve as a relationship manager to key internal stakeholders, aligning on strategic priorities that

inform comprehensive marketing plans. The individual will lead horizontal collaboration across the Office of Communications and Marketing (OCM)-including communications, brand, public relations, and web-to develop and execute fully integrated strategies. Experience with PESO (paid, earned, shared, owned) channel strategy is required. This is an on-site role in downtown Charleston and reports to MUSC's Deputy Chief Marketing Officer.

Principal Accountabilities:

50% - Establishes strategic vision and leads development of oncology-focused marketing communication strategies across enterprise, clinical, academic, and research missions for MUSC. Proactively monitors industry trends to inform long-term planning and growth strategies. Develops data-driven business cases that justify marketing investments to drive growth and market differentiation.

20% - Designs and executes integrated marketing campaigns and digital journeys tailored to key oncology audiences. Drives alignment across internal teams and external agency partners to deliver cohesive, high-impact strategies. Evaluates performance and communicates results, insights, and optimization opportunities clearly and effectively. Guides and influences cross-functional contributors to execute against strategic objectives.

20% - Demonstrates strong executive presence and leadership, aligning cross-functional stakeholders around shared marketing goals. Serves as the primary liaison between oncology service line leaders and OCM, ensuring consistent communication and strategic alignment.

10% - Leverages market research, competitive intelligence, CRM insights, and analytics to inform strategy and measure effectiveness. Assesses market dynamics-including demographics, competition, and environmental factors-to develop and execute both short- and long-term marketing plans that drive measurable ROI.

Position Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, or a related field, with 10+ years of relevant experience.
  • Master's degree (MBA, MHA, or equivalent) preferred.
  • Experience leading integrated marketing for a complex clinical service line strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead through influence, build consensus across diverse stakeholder groups, and manage complex campaigns.
  • Experience in a university, academic health system, health system or integrated service delivery network environment preferred.
