Full Job Description

Progyny is seeking a Director of IT who balances visionary leadership with deep-rooted technical expertise. This role is designed for a hands-on leader who has spent the last decade leading high-performing teams while remaining a subject matter expert in the core technology systems we use to deliver our technology experience to all users.

The ideal candidate will be the primary architect and guardian of our digital infrastructure, ensuring that our security posture, automation workflows, and identity management systems are best of breed.  This role won’t just manage the department; it will set the technical standard for how we leverage our technology tools to leverage business performance.

We work in a team environment and expect a proactive approach to tackling our day-to-day tasks as well as jumping into priority and emergency situations.

What you'll do...

  • Strategic Leadership: Direct the IT department's roadmap, aligning technology investments with organizational growth while managing a team of technical specialists.

  • Infrastructure & Security: Serve as the internal expert for Microsoft Entra (Identity) and Microsoft Defender, overseeing threat protection, conditional access policies, and enterprise-grade security protocols.

  • Endpoint Management: Architect and manage our global device footprint using Microsoft Intune & JAMF, ensuring seamless deployment, compliance, and patch management.

  • Business Automation: Lead the adoption of the Power Platform, specifically using Power Apps and Power Automate to digitize manual workflows and enhance departmental efficiency.

  • M365 Governance: Oversee the full Microsoft 365 tenant, ensuring optimal configuration of Teams, SharePoint, and Exchange while maintaining strict data governance.

  • AI in the workforce: Support the rollout and enablement of AI in the workforce and demonstrate the ability to use AI to strengthen the performance of the IT team and the business generally.

About you...

  • Bachelors or Masters in technical field or related experience.

  • 10 years in IT leadership roles, with a proven track record of mentoring technical staff and managing vendor relationships.

  • Extensive hands-on experience as an individual contributor within the Microsoft ecosystem (Entra, Intune, Defender, and M365).

  • Deep proficiency in automation tools like Power Automate or n8n development and a history of building custom business solutions.

  • The ability to manage and build in the Microsoft Azure cloud solution and integrate with our business processes

  • Experience with compliance standards like SOC2, SOX, or other common control standards applied to technology systems.

  • The ability to translate complex technical vulnerabilities or architectural needs into clear business cases for executive leadership.

  • Team management experience with the ability to bring the best out of everyone on the team

In compliance with New York City's Wage Transparency Law, the annual salary [wage] range for NYC-based applicants is: $160,000 - $175,000. There are a variety of factors that go into determining a salary range, including but not limited to external market benchmark data, geographic location, and years of experience sought/required. Progyny offers a total compensation package comprised of base salary, cash bonus, and equity.
