Title and Summary

Director, Head of Content - Foundry

Mastercard is seeking a highly creative, passionate, and experienced Director, Head of Content to lead the development and execution of Mastercard Foundry's global content strategy. In this highly visible role, you will shape and amplify Mastercard's innovation story through thought leadership, executive narratives, customer-facing content, innovation showcases, and strategic communications.

The Director, Head of Content will collaborate with senior executives, customers, business leaders, and cross-functional partners to create compelling content that positions Mastercard as a leader in innovation, emerging technologies, AI, payments, and the future of commerce. You will regularly engage with customer and C-suite audiences, representing Foundry's perspective on industry trends and business transformation.

You will shape Foundry's content vision and roadmap across thought leadership, executive presentations, customer engagement materials, industry insights, Experience Centers, and innovation showcases.

The ideal candidate combines exceptional storytelling and content development skills with strategic thinking, executive presence, and a deep understanding of emerging technologies and industry trends. They are equally comfortable creating compelling content, presenting to senior audiences, and driving cross-functional initiatives in a fast-paced environment.

Role
• Lead Foundry's global content strategy, serving as the primary content lead for thought leadership, executive communications, customer-facing content, and innovation narratives.
• Develop compelling points of view, thought leadership, and strategic content focused on innovation, emerging technologies, payments, AI, agentic commerce, banking, retail, and the future of commerce.
• Create and maintain content across multiple channels and formats including executive presentations, customer materials, industry reports, articles, keynote presentations, innovation showcases, and events.
• Serve as a strategic advisor to Foundry leadership on content, messaging, and storytelling opportunities.
• Collaborate with peers across Foundry to develop and scale Foundry thought leadership initiatives, including Signals and other strategic content programs, while supporting innovation initiatives, startup engagement, customer showcases, and executive communications.
• Partner with product, strategy, and innovation teams to translate complex technologies and solutions into clear customer-centric narratives and business value propositions.
• Support the content strategy and narrative development for Foundry Experience Centers, innovation showcases, executive briefings, customer meetings, and industry events.
• Present content and insights to customer, industry, and C-suite audiences, demonstrating confidence and credibility with senior stakeholders.
• Manage agency relationships and external content partners as needed.
• Develop and analyze metrics to evaluate the impact and effectiveness of content programs against business objectives.
• Create and coordinate communications plans to drive engagement internally and externally.
• Lead multiple content initiatives simultaneously, managing timelines, stakeholders, and deliverables.

• Strong understanding of emerging technologies, innovation trends, AI, payments, financial services, retail, commerce, and digital transformation.
• Demonstrated experience creating executive presentations and presenting to C-suite customers and senior leaders.
• Proven ability to influence and collaborate with senior executives and confidently represent an organization's perspective with customers, partners, and industry leaders.
• Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on content creation and project execution.
• Experience working in highly matrixed organizations and influencing stakeholders across functions and geographies.

In line with Mastercard's total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role. The base salary offered may vary depending on multiple factors, including but not limited to location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Mastercard benefits for full time (and certain part time) employees generally include: insurance (including medical, prescription drug, dental, vision, disability, life insurance); flexible spending account and health savings account; paid leaves (including 16 weeks of new parent leave and up to 20 days of bereavement leave); 80 hours of Paid Sick and Safe Time, 25 days of vacation time and 5 personal days, pro-rated based on date of hire; 10 annual paid U.S. observed holidays; 401k with a best-in-class company match; deferred compensation for eligible roles; fitness reimbursement or on-site fitness facilities; eligibility for tuition reimbursement; and many more. Mastercard benefits for interns generally include: 56 hours of Paid Sick and Safe Time; jury duty leave; and on-site fitness facilities in some locations.
