About the roleJanuary Digital is looking to fill a Director, Growth role for our team. Reporting directly into the VP, Client Services this role requires a growth minded individual with excellent communication skills and prior expertise executing across the digital landscape. You will be responsible for executing, managing and communicating successful outcomes for a client's digital marketing portfolio. Managed channels include: paid search, paid social, programmatic display, video and retail media / marketplace advertising (Amazon, Instacart, Roundel). A successful Growth Team Account Manager has the ability to focus on and communicate the core elements of multi-channel management, execution, strategy and analysis.
Responsibilities- Fully manage paid media across relevant channels (paid search, paid social, video, display, programmatic, amazon, instacart, roundel, retail marketplaces) with responsibility for analysis and optimizations based on client goals.
- Manage and mentor a team of two Growth Account Managers and be responsible for their career development.
- Manage a portfolio of multiple client accounts simultaneously, each operating at a different service tiers, adapting oversight, cadence, and resourcing account by account.
- Formulating paid media strategies for client businesses, including new test recommendations and optimizations that align with the clients' objectives.
- Stay ahead of emerging, AI-driven discovery channels, including Answer Engine Optimization (AEO), Generative Engine Optimization (GEO), and answer-engine visibility. This is a growing area across the agency and already active work on accounts.
- Lead client calls and serve as the primary day-to-day point of contact for assigned accounts.
- Oversee and quality-check the Account Management team's campaign planning and tactical execution across paid media channels, ensuring work aligns with strategy and client goals.
- Manage workflow and coordinate closely with Traffic/Operations teams to ensure projects move efficiently and deadlines are met.
- Oversee project management across campaigns, ensuring deliverables are organized, prioritized, and executed on time.
- Support the expansion of client engagements beyond paid media, including areas such as affiliate marketing, incrementality testing, forecasting, and creative strategy.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to connect channel performance with broader marketing initiatives and client goals.
- Ownership of analysis and reporting on client campaigns.
- Oversee the Account Management team's ad delivery and optimizations, ensuring fluid, high-quality execution across channels to meet client goals.
- Ownership of day-to-day client communications.
- IGuide and quality-check ad copy developed by the Account Management team, ensuring it is tailored to each client and adheres to their specific guidelines for brand voice.
- Build trust with clients by managing project deliverables, delivering flawless multi-channel tactical activation of marketing campaigns, and setting clear expectations internally.
- Staying on top of the latest trends in media and in client industries and presenting these findings in internal meetings and to clients.
- Helping lead audits and RFPs to win new business
- Travel Requirements: Must be able and willing to travel between NY & Dallas offices and to client and other company meetings within the U.S., as needed.
Qualifications- 9+ years' experience in managing paid media in digital channels - search (organic / paid), programmatic, affiliate, social, display, and video.
- 4+ years' experience managing multi-layered teams
- Proven ability to produce informed investment recommendations and campaign launches for a variety of advertising clients.
- Experience managing client relationships and leading strategic and tactical conversations with stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of paid media planning and execution.
360° marketing perspective with an understanding of how channels such as earned and owned media connect with paid media efforts. - Familiarity with incrementality testing and advanced measurement frameworks.
- Excellent project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple workflows and stakeholders.
- Comfortable collaborating across teams to support integrated marketing strategies.
- Experience with performance media principles - driving positive ROAS, maximizing lead generation and marketing subscription-based programs.
- Strong knowledge of paid search platforms, paid social platforms, Google Analytics.
- Excellent project management skills with ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously to meet deadlines.
- Sold knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint applications, Google work products, and other business tools (Slack, Airtable, etc.)

As such, we offer a hybrid work policy that allows employees to divide their time between working in the office and working remotely. Under this policy, employees are required to work in either our Dallas or NYC office at least 5 days per month, however you are welcomed to come in as often as you'd like! These days will be determined by your manager and/or team.
The salary range for this role in New York City is $135,500 to $165,000, depending on experience. Our salary ranges are based on paying competitively for our size and industry and are one part of the total compensation package that also includes a bi-annual performance bonus, free health insurance, annual wellness stipend, company 401k contribution, & more.
