Full Job Description

Join Vanguard's global tax leadership team and play a pivotal role in shaping the firm's international transfer pricing strategy. This highly visible role offers the opportunity to lead complex global tax initiatives, influence cross-functional business decisions, and partner with senior leaders across Finance, Tax, Treasury, Legal, Accounting, and Technology. If you're a strategic transfer pricing expert who thrives in a global, collaborative environment, you'll help drive innovation, governance, and compliance across Vanguard's international footprint while supporting key business growth initiatives.

 Responsibilities:

  • Lead Vanguard's global transfer pricing strategy and framework, including the design, implementation, and maintenance of transfer pricing policies, methodologies, intercompany pricing arrangements, documentation, and governance processes. Evaluate business, operating model, and regulatory changes to ensure the transfer pricing framework remains aligned with business operations and regulatory requirements.
  • Partner with Accounting to operationalize transfer pricing policies, oversee the global allocation framework, and maintain robust controls supporting monthly and annual processes.
  • Support year-end tax provision processes by analyzing transfer pricing positions, intercompany results, and related tax accounting implications, coordinating with tax, finance, and controllership stakeholders on provision calculations, documentation, and business impact analysis.
  • Lead Vanguard's global Country-by-Country Reporting strategy and compliance program, including oversight of private and public disclosures, governance, data collection, stakeholder coordination, and assessment of emerging reporting requirements and transparency initiatives across jurisdictions.
  • Monitor U.S., OECD, and international legislative and regulatory developments related to transfer pricing and international tax and communicate potential impacts to leadership.
  • Lead transfer pricing tax controversy, and audit defense through risk assessments, documentation of positions, management of external advisors, and response strategies for stakeholder review.
  • Manage relationships with external advisors to oversee transfer pricing documentation
  • Advise business leaders on transfer pricing and allocation matters, including understanding operational activities, risks, and value drivers across Vanguard's global business.
  •  Drive continuous improvement of transfer pricing, international tax, and intercompany processes through enhanced governance, controls, technology, documentation, and departmental procedures.
  • Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • 12+ years of experience in transfer pricing and/or U.S. international tax within a public accounting firm, law firm, or multinational organization.
  • Significant experience designing, implementing, and managing global transfer pricing policies, documentation, benchmarking studies, intercompany agreements, and governance frameworks.
  • Demonstrated experience providing strategic international tax support for cross-border transactions, operating models, and business initiatives.
  • Experience collaborating with senior business leaders and cross-functional stakeholders in a complex global organization.

Preferred Credentials

  • CPA, JD, Master's degree in Taxation, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
