Job Overview
The Director, Global Quality is responsible for developing and executing the global quality strategy for Gilbarco Veeder-Root Fueling Solutions within the broader business strategy. This role leads the deployment and continuous improvement of the global quality system, with accountability for quality policies, procedures, and processes that support consistent product and service performance, customer satisfaction, and operational excellence. The position provides leadership across key quality workstreams, including Design for Reliability, Supplier Quality Management, Manufacturing Process Control, and Customer Service & Support, and partners closely with leaders and teams across the business to drive quality improvement across the product lifecycle and global manufacturing footprint.
Responsibilities
• Develop and execute a focused global quality strategy aligned to business objectives, customer expectations, and operational priorities.
• Lead the deployment and ongoing improvement of the Vontier Reliability System within the organization.
• Define and manage a department-level quality deployment plan, including performance targets, resource needs, process improvements, and capability development.
• Partner cross-functionally with Product Management, Engineering, Procurement, Manufacturing, and Customer Support to embed quality practices from design through end of life.
• Oversee the quality system for the organization, including ISO 9001 compliance and adherence to applicable regulatory, industry, and customer requirements.
• Lead customer defect tracking and resolution processes, ensuring timely investigation, containment, corrective action, and communication with internal and external stakeholders.
• Develop and maintain quality KPIs, dashboards, and data analytics to monitor performance, identify trends, and support decision-making.
• Partner with Procurement and operations teams to strengthen supplier quality management processes, including supplier monitoring, issue resolution, and performance improvement.
• Plan and support internal and external audits, and ensure timely closure and verification of corrective actions.
• Lead and develop quality professionals, including managers and/or individual contributors as applicable, while fostering accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Serve as a key quality partner to senior leadership by providing clear insights, recommendations, and status updates on quality performance and priorities.
• Ability to travel up to 50% of working time.
Qualifications:

Essential
• Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline.
• 8+ years of experience in a technical role designing and optimizing products and/or manufacturing processes.
• 5+ years of experience in a quality management leadership role, including leading cross-functional initiatives and influencing outcomes across functions.
• In-depth knowledge of quality management systems, standards, and methodologies (e.g., ISO 9001).
• Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage competing demands, and meet deadlines.
• Demonstrated success collaborating cross-functionally to solve business problems and improve performance.
• Excellent communication skills with diverse audiences, including training, coaching, influencing, and presenting; experience working with global teams.
• Comfort interacting directly with end customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
Preferable
• Advanced technical degree or an MBA.
• ASQ certification or equivalent (e.g., CMQ/OE, CQE).
• Experience in lean manufacturing, including structured problem solving and kaizen.
• Experience working with external partners (suppliers, customers, agencies) to accelerate progress and deliver results.
The base compensation range for this position is $147,290 to $189,000 per annum. Your actual base salary will be determined based upon numerous factors which may include relevant experience, skills, location (labor market data), credentials (education, certifications), and internal equity.
