Summary:
The Director of Environmental Services supports and collaborates with the Vice President of Support Services to plan, organize, direct and control the activities and staff activities for Environmental, Laundry and Linen department's at all organizational locations. Has 24 hour responsibility. Consistent with SMHC's mission, vision and values, the Director establishes goals, objectives, standards of performance through the development and implementation of operating policies and procedures. Responsible for oversight of the cleanliness at all SMHC locations utilizing accepted infection control techniques and isolation procedures. Develops processes for removal of all types of waste including managing appropriate service contracts for the department working with Materiel's Management. Serves as the organization's hazardous material program administrator, developing policies for storage, disposal, and staff training, and ensuring adequate supply of linen properly processed, coordinates activities with other departments to ensure timely, safe, and efficient operation of SMHC facilities. • • The Director interprets and enforces compliance with organizational policies as well as environmental services standards, regulations and codes to personnel and contracted services including but not limited to the Joint Commission, CDC and DHHS. Ensures documented compliance and provides required reporting with the published standards. • • Organizes department structure and develops short and long term goals and objectives for the department in consultation with the Vice President. • • Serves on Management Team and various administrative committees as deemed appropriate by Vice President. • • Works with Support Services Divisional leadership to assist Vice President in defining, developing, implementing and monitoring Divisional goals and objectives.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

1. Education: Associates degree preferred, but progressive environmental training and experience will be considered.
2. License/Certification: Valid driver's license required.
3. Experience: Minimum of five years' experience of demonstrated, proven, progressive institutional Environmental Services administrative and supervisory experience including responsibilities for staffing, budgeting, policies, procedures and work standards preferred.
4. Must have excellent people and communications skills.
5. Focused on maintaining quality control and compliance with regulatory requirements.
6. Demonstrated thorough knowledge of environmental services equipment, supplies, and chemicals agents with regards to quality, safety, environmental and infection control work standards.

The base range is an estimate and does not reflect the full value of our total compensation package.

The pay range for this position is $89,980.80 to $121,721.60 per year.

Compensation for part-time positions is determined on a prorated basis consistent with the scheduled hours and applicable full-time equivalent (FTE).
