Director, Engineering & Service ExcellenceIn this role you will work remotely from a home office.Siemens Digital Industries is looking for a leader who can help strengthen project, engineering, and service delivery excellence across complex industrial environments.
We are looking for a Director, Engineering & Service Excellence. This position will be based in Alpharetta, GA or Harleysville, PA, with flexibility for the selected candidate to reside anywhere in the United States.
You'll make an impact by: - Leading the technical capability backbone across Projects and Services delivery, ensuring engineering standards, service execution methods, reusable assets, and technical readiness support scalable business growth.
- Driving continuous improvement of engineering and service execution standards across the organization.
- Developing, governing, and scaling reusable engineering assets, templates, libraries, reference architecture, standard operating procedures, playbooks, and technical documentation.
- Strengthening technical quality, cybersecurity, safety, compliance, and delivery standards throughout project and service execution activities.
- Building engineering and service capability frameworks, competency models, communities of practice, and technical development pathways that support talent growth and organizational readiness.
- Improving productivity and delivery efficiency through standardization, modularization, automation, digital tools, artificial intelligence-enabled approaches, remote services, and remote-first delivery models where appropriate.
- Partnering closely with Sales, Project Management, Bid Management, Product Units, external partners, and global stakeholders to ensure technical alignment and delivery readiness.
- Leading, coaching, and aligning Manager-level leaders, building strong people leadership, accountability, and consistent execution discipline across the team.
- Capturing lessons learned from project and service execution and converting them into standards, reusable assets, knowledge libraries, and continuous improvement actions.
- Supporting strategic initiatives requiring advanced technical expertise, innovative delivery concepts, and adoption of future-oriented technologies and portfolios.
- Driving workforce planning and technical talent development strategies to ensure the organization can meet current and future delivery demands.
- Collaborating with global and regional centers of competence to maximize expertise sharing, accelerate innovation, and avoid duplicated effort across the organization.
- Establishing governance routines and performance metrics focused on engineering quality, productivity, standard adoption, capability maturity, resource readiness, and leadership effectiveness.
- Enabling partner and ecosystem delivery models through clearly defined technical standards, prerequisites, reusable enablement packages, and scalable delivery practices.
Basic Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Industrial Technology, or a related technical discipline
- 10+ years of experience leading engineering, service delivery, systems integration, industrial automation, or technical operations organizations.
- 5+ years of experience managing leaders, managers, or technical leadership teams within complex industrial or technology-driven environments.
- 5+ years of experience defining and implementing engineering standards, technical governance processes, quality frameworks, or reusable execution methodologies.
- 5+ years of experience developing technical talent, competency frameworks, career development programs, or communities of practice.
- 5+ years of experience driving productivity improvements through standardization, automation, digital technologies, remote services, or AI-enabled delivery approaches.
- Demonstrated knowledge of quality, cybersecurity, compliance, safety, and technical risk management requirements within engineering and service environments.
- Experience leading cross-functional initiatives that include engineering, project management, services, product organizations, partners, and global stakeholders.
- Ability to travel as required to support customers, business initiatives, and team development.
- Proficient in English both written and verbal
- Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications - 15+ years of experience in industrial automation, process automation, discrete automation, systems engineering, lifecycle services, or IT/OT integration environments.
- Experience working across regional, zonal, and global operating models.
- Experience developing technical partner-enablement programs, technical standards, or partner delivery frameworks.
- Strong knowledge of project delivery, bid management, engineering execution, and lifecycle service interdependencies.
- Advanced degree in Engineering, Technology Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Professional engineering certification or advanced technical credentials.

The pay range for this position is $145,156 - $248,839 annually with a target incentive of 20% of the base salary. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
