Director, Education & FamilyPrograms.Reporting to the ChiefProgram Officer, this role provides operational leadership for some of the mostimpactful services at Ronald McDonald House Toronto-including ourMinistry-inspected licensed private school, family recreation programming,seasonal camps, and food services. This is a unique opportunity to shapeprograms that create connection, belonging, learning, comfort, and moments ofnormalcy for families navigating serious childhood illness.
A Leadership Role withMeaningThis role requires anexceptional leader who can balance strategic vision with operational excellencewhile fostering an environment where every child, youth, caregiver, and familyfeels welcomed, respected, and supported.
As Director, Education &Family Programs, you will lead multidisciplinary teams and oversee programsthat serve families from diverse cultural, linguistic, religious,socioeconomic, and family backgrounds. You will champion inclusive practices,equitable access to services, and culturally responsive approaches that ensureevery family experiences a sense of belonging throughout their stay.

As Director, Education & Family Programs, you will:
- Provide leadership and coachingto teachers, educational staff, and programming
- Support students withdiverse learning, developmental, behavioural, and social-emotional needs
- Foster inclusive learningenvironments where every child can thrive
- Partner with families,hospital teams, and hometown schools to support educational continuity andsuccessful transitions
- Ensure compliance withMinistry of Education requirements and recognition standards
Recreation & FamilyProgramming- You will oversee & supporta broad range of family-centred recreational and wellness programming designedto provide connection, respite, engagement, and joy:
- Leading the development,implementation, and evaluation of inclusive family programs and activities
- Overseeing seasonal Ontarioaccredited camp and recreational services
- Ensuring programs areaccessible, culturally responsive, developmentally appropriate, and reflectiveof family needs
- Creating opportunities forchildren, youth, siblings, and caregivers to build community and feel a senseof belonging
- Supporting staffdevelopment in trauma-informed, anti-oppressive, and family-centred practices
Food Services- Food is one of the manyways we care for families and create a welcoming environment during challengingtimes. You will:
- Provide leadership andoversight of kitchen operations and food service delivery
- Support nutritious,culturally responsive meal programs that reflect the diverse dietary, cultural,and religious needs of families
- Oversee the Meals from theHeart volunteer meal program
- Ensure compliance withfood safety and public health standards
- Explore opportunities toenhance and expand food service delivery across House and Family Room locations

What You'll BringWe are looking for aleader who combines operational excellence with deep compassion and acommitment to family-centred care.
You'll bring:
- A Bachelor's degree inEducation is required (Master's degree considered an asset)
- Ontario College ofTeachers membership (preferred)
- Significant progressiveleadership experience (10+ years) in education, recreation, camps, child andfamily programming, food services, or related sectors
- Experience leadingmultidisciplinary teams and managing complex operations (5+ years)
- Demonstrated successdeveloping, implementing, and evaluating programs and services
- Strong knowledge of the OntarioCurriculum, child and youth development, accessibility, and inclusiveprogramming practices
- Experience overseeing kitchen operations or volunteer-led meal programs; menu planning and food safety practices
- Experience supportingdiverse populations and embedding equity, diversity, inclusion, andaccessibility principles into programs and teams
- Experience managingbudgets, policies, compliance requirements, and organizational partnerships
- Strong experience withclassroom management and progressive discipline procedures.
- Exceptional leadership,communication, coaching, and relationship-building skills
- The ability to lead withempathy, humility, sound judgment, and cultural awareness
