What you'll be doing

As Director, Strategy & Reporting for the Enterprise Anti-Money Laundering (EAML) team, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping and advancing the division's strategic priorities. Reporting to the VP, Strategy, Governance & Advisory, you'll collaborate with senior leaders to define the purpose, vision, and core strategy for EAML, while implementing frameworks to track progress against divisional goals. You'll oversee the development and production of senior executive and board reporting for the AML/Anti-Terrorist Financing (ATF) Program, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely delivery. Your strategic insights will help optimize operational capacity and workforce planning, and you'll lead a team dedicated to maintaining high standards in reporting and governance. Building strong relationships across CIBC, you'll be a key connector between EAML and partner departments, supporting compliance and driving continuous improvement.

How you'll succeed
  • Strategic Planning & Execution - Collaborate with senior leadership to define EAML priorities, develop strategic roadmaps, and monitor progress against objectives, providing updates and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Reporting & Metrics Management - Lead the team responsible for producing monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for Boards, Committees, and senior executives; ensure data accuracy, consistency, and visually clear presentation.
  • Capacity Planning & Forecasting - Analyze operational workflows and resource allocation, present insights to inform workforce planning, and continuously refine forecasting models to align with evolving business needs.
  • Governance & Compliance - Build and maintain governance frameworks for EAML metrics, manage access to reports, and ensure compliance with CIBC policies and controls.
  • Team Leadership & Development - Provide effective management and mentorship to staff, set context for assignments, build team capabilities through development opportunities, and foster a positive, inclusive work environment.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration - Establish and nurture strong relationships with key internal partners across Risk Management, Finance, Internal Audit, Human Resources, Chief Administration Office, and Corporate Secretary.
