** Hybrid role - Must be based in Charlotte, NC **Oversee Domestic Operations to ensure proper chassis supply is maintained in each market and specific locations to support our customer's needs.
Duties and ResponsibilitiesProvides support and insight to Pool Managers and supervisors in order to make effective decisions to reduce costs and improve revenue
- Collaborate with all functional departments through implementation of new business models to ensure a smooth and successful execution
- Develop clear and measurable objectives for the Domestic Operations team that support the company's overall business strategy
- Liaison with vendors, rail operators, and customers to ensure operational satisfaction
- Leads or participates in meetings with key stakeholders internally such as Domestic Commercial team. Lead and participate in external meetings with Customers, Vendors and host railroads
- Develop key agenda items and lead the daily Domestic Team Meeting
- Develop cost saving initiatives on an on-going basis to ensure year over year savings
- Works closely with field Maintenance and Repair colleagues to ensure that the appropriate quantity of chassis are repaired and available
- Provides required inputs for annual budget and provides insight and analysis on monthly expenses in review of costs better or wors vs budget
- Implements and monitors adherence to all DCLI policies including, but not limited to harassment and affirmative action/equal employment; insures compliance and cooperation
- Develop managers, supervisors and staff. Provide input and oversight for annual appraisal process
Qualifications- 7 to 10 years of operations experience in the intermodal, trucking, transportation, or equipment leasing industry, including at least 5 years of management experience
- Team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines and excel in a fast paced and dynamic work environment
- Highly organized and able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Ability to make clear and actionable business recommendations
- Flexibility with the ability to quickly adapt to change
- Strong computer skills (Tableau, Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening.
