Full Job Description
Overview

As the Director of DevOps, Security and IT, you will lead the teams that keep AgentSync running - the cloud infrastructure and delivery pipelines our product ships on, the security program that protects our customers' data, and the identity, endpoint, and SaaS foundations every employee depends on. You will set the strategy and own the outcomes across all three functions in a fast-moving startup environment. You'll grow and develop a team of engineers, partner closely with Engineering, Product, Legal, and the business, and set the standard for what reliable, secure, well-run infrastructure looks like at AgentSync.

What You'll Do

  • Set the strategy, roadmap, and measurable goals for DevOps, Security, IT Operations, and AI enablement. Prioritize investments against business needs, risk, and team capacity, and communicate progress to leadership.
  • Lead, hire, and develop DevOps, Security, and IT engineers. Set clear expectations, coach for growth, and build a culture of accountability, service, and continuous improvement.
  • Own the reliability, scalability, and cost efficiency of our AWS infrastructure, including infrastructure as code, container platforms, networking, and capacity planning.
  • Improve CI/CD and developer self-service to help teams deliver software safely and quickly. Establish consistent testing, release, and rollback practices, and measure delivery performance.
  • Establish service-level objectives, observability, and sustainable on-call practices. Lead incident response and post-incident improvements, and validate backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity plans.
  • Own the security program across cloud infrastructure, identity, endpoints, and the software development lifecycle. Prioritize vulnerability remediation, patching, data loss prevention, threat detection, and response based on risk.
  • Lead SOC 2 readiness and customer security reviews with Legal and Compliance. Maintain effective controls and audit evidence, assess third-party risks, and drive remediation to completion.
  • Own IT service delivery, including employee onboarding and offboarding, identity and access management, device management, SaaS administration, and support. Improve service quality while enforcing least-privilege access and endpoint security.
  • Drive automation across infrastructure, security, and IT to reduce manual work, improve consistency, and free teams to focus on higher-value problems.
  • Lead AI enablement across Engineering and business teams. Identify valuable use cases, evaluate tools, run pilots, and scale AI coding assistants, knowledge tools, and workflow automation with clear owners and success criteria.
  • Partner with Legal, Compliance, and business leaders to establish AI usage policies and approval standards covering sensitive data, vendor data handling, access controls, and human review. Ensure AI integrations and agents have appropriate permissions, logging, and oversight.
  • Own infrastructure, security, IT, and AI tooling budgets and vendor relationships. Forecast spend, negotiate contracts, and manage licensing and utilization to align investment with business value.
  • Partner with Engineering, Product, Legal, and business teams to resolve dependencies and explain technical tradeoffs. Represent infrastructure and security practices in customer conversations and turn recurring needs into roadmap priorities.
What You'll Bring
  • Significant experience leading DevOps, platform, infrastructure, security, or IT teams, with direct people management and responsibility spanning multiple functions. Experience in a startup or high-growth SaaS environment is strongly preferred.
  • Deep hands-on experience operating production AWS infrastructure, including Terraform or comparable infrastructure as code, ECS and EKS/Kubernetes, networking, identity and access management, and cloud cost optimization.
  • Experience owning CI/CD, developer platforms, observability, and service reliability for a SaaS product, including service-level objectives, on-call operations, incident management, and disaster recovery.
  • Experience building or leading a security program covering vulnerability management, cloud and identity security, endpoint protection, secure development, and incident response. Ability to prioritize controls and remediation based on business risk.
  • Strong working knowledge of SOC 2, with experience leading audit readiness, maintaining control evidence, and responding to customer security questionnaires and third-party reviews.
  • Experience leading IT operations, including identity lifecycle management, SSO and MFA, endpoint management, SaaS administration, employee support, and automated onboarding and offboarding.
  • Demonstrated experience evaluating, deploying, and driving adoption of generative AI tools across teams, such as coding assistants, enterprise knowledge tools, or AI-enabled workflows, with measurable improvements in productivity or service quality.
  • Practical experience integrating large language model APIs or AI automation platforms with existing systems. Ability to assess output quality, reliability, cost, and failure modes, and design appropriate human review and operational monitoring.
  • Experience establishing or implementing AI governance and security controls, including acceptable use, sensitive data protection, vendor data retention and training practices, and permissions for integrations or agents.
  • Experience delivering employee training and change management for new tools or processes, including gathering feedback and measuring adoption and business outcomes.
  • Experience owning budgets, forecasting cloud and SaaS spend, and negotiating vendor contracts while balancing cost, reliability, security, and employee needs.
  • A track record of hiring, mentoring, and developing engineers, setting priorities in ambiguous situations, and delivering cross-functional initiatives with clear ownership and measurable results.
  • Strong technical judgment and problem-solving skills, with the ability to move between strategy and hands-on troubleshooting. Clear written and verbal communication with executives, customers, and non-technical teams.
