Full Job Description
Summary:

In this role, you will lead a team that designs and delivers governed data solutions that enable clients and Advisory teams to access, understand, and use enterprise data safely across consulting, analytics, reporting, and product-adjacent workflows. You will lead and develop data engineering talent while serving as a hands-on technical partner across Kaufman Hall, Data Governance, Data Engineering, Architecture, Analytics, Product, and Managed Services. You will translate consulting and business use cases into reusable data assets, governed access patterns, documentation, and scalable solutions using Databricks and modern cloud data technologies. You will improve data usability, governance alignment, delivery speed, security, and operational support while ensuring solutions align with enterprise standards.

Responsibilities:
• Lead, coach, and develop data engineers and technical contributors through performance management, career development, prioritization, and effective team operating rhythms.
• Partner with Kaufman Hall and Advisory leadership to understand consulting analytics needs and translate them into governed, executable data solution plans.
• Define and implement governed data access patterns based on user personas, approved datasets, usage boundaries, documentation requirements, and support workflows.
• Translate business and consulting use cases into data personas, access levels, solution patterns, and implementation options, including curated extracts, governed views, Databricks workspaces, dashboards, APIs, natural-language analytics, and reusable analytics assets.
• Design, develop, optimize, and enhance data solutions using Databricks, SQL, and modern cloud data technologies.
• Create and maintain practical data documentation covering table grain, key fields, join guidance, lineage, refresh cadence, retention rules, data-quality limitations, and appropriate-use guidance.
• Partner with Data Governance, data owners, Security, Compliance, Data Engineering, and Analytics teams to identify and mitigate documentation, quality, lineage, access, security, and compliance risks.
• Serve as the accountable technical partner for Advisory data-solution intake, shaping requirements, coordinating execution across data teams, and ensuring delivered solutions are usable, governed, secure, and supportable.
• Convert recurring consulting analytics needs into reusable governed data assets, accelerators, and productizable capabilities while promoting best practices for architecture, governance, quality, security, and operational support.
• Partner with Managed Services, Architecture, Product, and other cross-functional teams to support scalable data pipelines, recurring analytics workflows, AI and advanced analytics use cases, technical documentation, and emerging data capabilities.

• Experience supporting data and analytics use cases involving AI, natural-language analytics, or advanced analytics preferred.

Estimated Hiring Range:
At Vizient, we consider skills, experience, and organizational needs in our compensation approach. Geographic factors may adjust the range estimate and hires typically fall below the top range. Compensation decisions are tailored to individual circumstances. The current salary range for this role is $117,600.00 to $206,000.00.

This position is also incentive eligible.
