DIRECTOR, CONSUMER GROWTH (STARLINK BROADBAND)

As Director of Consumer Growth for the Starlink Broadband business, you will lead the strategy and execution for revenue growth and market penetration for Starlink's satellite broadband network around the world. Starlink is the most global telecommunications company, operating in over 160 countries and territories worldwide. This role plays a pivotal part in SpaceX's mission to provide global connectivity, enabling underserved populations to access reliable internet for education, work, and entertainment. You will oversee cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, innovative environment, collaborating with product, engineering, and marketing to scale consumer adoption while navigating competitive and regulatory landscapes.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Develop and implement comprehensive go-to-market strategies for consumer broadband services, including pricing, bundling, and promotional campaigns to maximize subscriber acquisition and retention.
  • Take full ownership of consumer growth outcomes, including customer retention and high growth rates (at least 2x year over year) across multiple regions, cost optimization, forecasting demand, and supply chain coordination.
  • Analyze consumer market trends, competitive intelligence, and user feedback to refine product offerings and enhance the end-to-end customer experience from onboarding to support.
  • Partner with engineering and operations teams to ensure seamless integration of hardware (e.g., user terminals) and software features that meet consumer needs for speed, reliability, and affordability.
  • Drive growth initiatives, such as partnerships to broaden distribution channels and accelerate consumer adoption, marketing and advertising efforts, integration of government subsidy programs

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in an analytical field (economics, finance, engineering, or STEM).
  • 10+ years of direct people leadership experience in a consumer-facing business.
  • 5+ years of experience within telecommunications, broadband, consumer products, or technical industries.

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Experience and success selling both physical equipment and subscription services at high growth rates. Direct e-commerce, direct retail, and partnership experience all desired.
  • Experience with various modes of advertising (billboards, television commercials, flyers, etc.).
  • Demonstrated success in international market expansion, including consumer product sales globally to expand reach and adoption in rural areas, as well as marketing/advertising campaigns tailored for cultural differences.
  • Expertise in data analytics for consumer insights and performance optimization.
  • Leadership experience in fast-paced, startup-like cultures with a focus on innovation and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Familiarity with supply chain management for consumer hardware and global logistics.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Ability to travel occasionally.
  • This position is based in Bastrop and requires being onsite-remote work not considered.
  • Must be able to work extended hours and weekends as needed.
