Position Description: This position follows a hybrid work model and requires attendance at our downtown Toronto office (250 Yonge Street) and/or the client office for a minimum of 4 days per week, subject to change based on business.
CGI is seeking a Director Consulting Services - Life Insurance to lead strategic growth, client engagement, and consulting delivery within the Canadian life insurance sector. Reporting to the GTA Insurance Leader, this leadership role is responsible for driving business development, managing strategic client relationships, overseeing consulting engagements, and achieving revenue and profitability objectives across a portfolio of life insurance clients headquartered in Ontario.
The successful candidate will be recognized as a trusted advisor within the life insurance industry, capable of identifying business opportunities, developing innovative technology and consulting solutions, leading complex engagements, and building high-performing teams.
Your future duties and responsibilities:• Develop and execute account growth strategies to expand CGI's footprint within target life insurance clients.
• Build, manage, and maintain executive-level relationships with business and technology leaders across Canadian life insurance organizations.
• Identify, qualify, and convert consulting and systems integration opportunities into successful engagements.
• Lead the development of proposals, solution strategies, pricing models, and contract negotiations for complex client initiatives.
• Oversee the successful delivery of consulting and technology engagements, ensuring quality, customer satisfaction, and business outcomes.
• Own the financial performance of assigned accounts, including revenue growth, profitability, forecasting, and P&L management.
• Lead and mentor a local team of approximately 15 professionals while leveraging global delivery capabilities as needed.
• Foster the growth and professional development of team members through coaching, mentoring, and succession planning.
• Build and strengthen strategic partnerships with alliance partners to support business growth and innovation.
• Recruit, develop, and retain high-performing consulting professionals through networking and industry engagement.
• Drive continuous improvement in delivery excellence, operational efficiency, and client satisfaction.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:• 10+ years of progressive leadership experience within a technology consulting or systems integration organization.
• Demonstrated expertise in the Canadian and/or U.S. Life Insurance industry, with a strong understanding of business operations and technology transformation.
• Proven track record of generating consulting and systems integration sales through trusted executive relationships.
• Experience managing complex consulting engagements from opportunity identification through successful delivery.
• Strong business development experience, including opportunity qualification, proposal development, pricing, and contract negotiations.
• Demonstrated success managing executive client relationships within Ontario-based life insurance organizations.
• Experience managing P&L, revenue targets, profitability, forecasting, and financial performance.
• Strong leadership experience managing multidisciplinary consulting and delivery teams.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, stakeholder management, and executive presentation skills.
• Ability to influence senior executives and drive strategic business outcomes.
Education
• Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, or a related discipline.
• MBA or other advanced business qualification is preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
• Established network within the Canadian life insurance industry.
• Experience leading digital transformation, modernization, or systems integration programs.
• Familiarity with insurance core platforms, cloud transformation, enterprise architecture, and emerging technologies.
• Experience working within large consulting organizations and managing strategic client portfolios.
**CGI is providing a reasonable estimate of the pay range for this role. The determination of this range includes factors such as skill set level, geographic market, experience and training, and licenses and certifications. Compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $145,000-$195,000. This role is an existing vacancy.**
