SUMMARY

iFIT's vision is to create the world's most holistic health and fitness platform, integrating all elements of health - physical fitness, mental health, nutrition and active recovery - into a seamless interactive experience. We develop proprietary software that learns and adjusts to the habits of each person as it delivers immersive content that guides them on their own individual fitness journey.

We are currently seeking an ambitious pace-setter to join our team as a Director of Mobile App Development, in the US, remotely.

ROLE COMMITMENTS

  • Lead the Development & Global Launch of Connected Strength App: Oversee the full mobile app lifecycle from MVP to post-launch optimization, driving feature delivery across iOS and Android platforms.
  • Build and Scale a High-Performing Mobile Engineering Team: Manage and grow a team of 20+ developers, instilling best practices and technical excellence across code quality, performance, and CI/CD workflows.
  • Drive Technical Integration with Hardware Systems: Collaborate cross-functionally with firmware, hardware, and product design to integrate Bluetooth, sensor-driven, and real-time performance tracking features.
  • Deliver a Best-in-Class Mobile User Experience: Partner with UX/UI and content teams to ship an intuitive, polished, and innovative strength training experience.
  • Ensure App Performance, Stability & Compliance: Monitor crash analytics, ensure platform compliance, and lead continuous iteration based on user data and business goals.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead and mentor mobile engineers building iOS and Android features for the Connected Strength platform
  • Define modern architecture patterns and coding standards (e.g., MVVM, MVI) for app maintainability and scale
  • Establish CI/CD pipelines and streamline app release processes across Google Play and Apple App Store
  • Collaborate with product management and design to prioritize features and align with roadmap goals
  • Work closely with firmware and hardware teams to integrate connected device functionality via BLE and sensors
  • Monitor app performance using tools like Firebase Crashlytics, Sentry, and Amplitude; implement improvements based on findings
  • Introduce AI-driven and feature-flagged development workflows for rapid experimentation and user personalization
  • Maintain a deep understanding of platform policies, data privacy, and security requirements


Education and Basic Qualifications:
  • 8+ years of professional experience in mobile app development
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a senior engineering leadership or director-level role
  • Proven record of launching and scaling commercial mobile apps on both iOS and Android platforms
  • Strong knowledge of Kotlin, Swift, and third-party SDK integration
  • Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience integrating apps with hardware peripherals (BLE, USB, sensors)
  • Familiarity with mobile performance optimization and crash analytics tools
  • Skilled in using feature flags, A/B testing frameworks, and analytics tools like Amplitude
  • Passion for fitness, health, or connected fitness technology
  • Experience working in agile environments with distributed teams
