Role Summary

The Director, Compensation is responsible for the strategic oversight, administration, and governance of the Company's deferred compensation programs. Reporting to the VP, Compensation, this role partners closely with Legal, Payroll, Finance, and external service providers to oversee all aspects of deferred compensation strategy, operations, and compliance. In addition, this position will contribute to broader Compensation Team initiatives and projects, partnering across a wide range of compensation programs, processes, and strategic priorities throughout the organization.

  • Lead the administration of the Company's deferred compensation plans, including enrollment, contribution and distribution processing, and ongoing plan operations.
  • Partner with Payroll, Tax, and Finance to ensure accurate processing, reporting, and taxation of deferred compensation transactions.
  • Build trusted relationships with executive participants and HR leaders, serving as the Company's subject matter expert and primary point of contact for all deferred compensation plan matters.
  • Provide guidance and resolve complex participant issues while ensuring a high level of customer service and responsiveness.
  • Manage relationships with recordkeepers and other external service providers, including oversight of service delivery, issue resolution, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with Internal Revenue Code Section 409A and other applicable regulations governing nonqualified deferred compensation plans.
  • Maintain plan documentation, administrative procedures, governance controls, and operational processes to support effective plan administration and risk management.
  • Support executive-level communications, presentations, and materials related to deferred compensation programs.
  • Partner with Finance, Accounting, Tax, and Payroll teams on deferred compensation liabilities, forecasting, reporting, and reconciliation activities.
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives involving deferred compensation plans, including systems implementations, program enhancements, and corporate transactions.
  • Assist with compensation analyses, market benchmarking, and competitive assessments to support compensation strategy and decision-making.
  • Support the design, administration, and evaluation of compensation programs, policies, and processes across the organization.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 10+ years of progressive compensation experience.

What We'll Look For:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Finance, Mathematics, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • Knowledge of nonqualified deferred compensation plans, Internal Revenue Code Section 409A, and related administration practices.
  • Experience administering deferred compensation programs through Fidelity NetBenefits or a similar deferred compensation recordkeeping platform preferred.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including experience performing large-scale data analysis, building financial models, and developing executive-level reports.
  • Strategic, results-oriented thinker with strong attention to detail and the ability to balance long-term program design with operational execution.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex compensation concepts into clear, actionable guidance.
  • Executive presence, sound judgment, and the ability to effectively influence, collaborate with, and present to senior leaders and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Solid project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Demonstrated professionalism, discretion, and integrity in handling highly sensitive and confidential information.

Hybrid: This position currently has a hybrid schedule, which requires contributing from the office a minimum of four days per week. The Company reserves the right to change in-office requirements at any time.
