Responsibilities

Garfield Park Behavioral Hospital is seeking an exceptional Director of Clinical Services to join our team of dedicated behavioral health professionals!

JOB SUMMARY:

The Director of Clinical Services has 24/7 responsibility for the provision of quality clinical care.

Duties and responsibilities include: supervising all clinical program activities and interactions with patients for all in-patient units; designing and leading implementation of clinical services and programming, as well as ensuring programs meet the needs of the community and the facility's performance goals and objectives; assessing the quality of our clinical programming and social service provision to patients and families; assuring maintenance of standards for quality clinical services as defined by professional bodies, the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations and other accrediting organizations.

Qualifications

JOB SPECIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to demonstrate competency in the criteria listed in this job description. The specifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and ability to meet the minimum requirements for this position. The Director of Clinical Services must demonstrate knowledge and skills in provision of services to a varied populations including children, adolescent, preadolescents and adult patients in an inpatient and partial hospitalization program.

Requirements:

Education: Master's or Doctorate Degree in Social Work, Clinical Psychology required.

Experience: 3+ years' experience working with a psychiatric mental health population in an acute inpatient setting, one + year supervisory experience.

Licensure/Certification: LCSW, LCPC, or Licensed Psychologist

Knowledge: Knowledge of individual and family therapy theory and practice, group leadership skills, age specific growth and development, crisis and behavior management. Knowledge of theory and practice of assessments. Able to work cooperatively with other hospital staff and involved community agencies. Good organization and critical thinking skills, as well as oral and written communication skills.

Supervision Exercised: Clinical Program Supervisor/Manager, Expressive Therapist, Social Work staff, Academy staff

Working Conditions: Exposure to psychiatric patients who may exhibit violent/aggressive behavior. Potential for exposure to communicable diseases, blood/body fluids and other hazardous waste. General hospital environment.

Physical Requirements: Ability to communicate verbally and in writing. Physical agility to manage patients. Push, pull and lift up to 20 pounds. Intermittent sitting, standing, walking, bending, reaching and stooping.
