Role
The Tech for Good team sits within the Center's Global Programs team and leads programmatic strategies and initiatives that accelerate the responsible adoption and scalable use of technology, including AI and data innovation, for social impact. The team addresses information inequality by rethinking processes, workflows, services, tools, data, systems, capability, and ecosystems to drive meaningful, measurable changes through technology to promote inclusive growth, particularly in underserved and marginalized communities.

Reporting to the Vice President, Tech for Good, the Director will focus on three priorities: building and managing the ecosystem of assets, tools, experts, and partners needed to scale social impact; enabling the effective exchange and use of Mastercard's assets including tools, data, AI, and technology to advance our "doing well by doing good" mission and the Center's inclusive innovation agenda; and mainstreaming advanced analytics and usability to support the delivery of internal and external engagements. The ideal candidate will bring strong stakeholder engagement, advanced analytical acumen, and ecosystem management experience, with the ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced, high-impact environment.

Key Responsibilities:
• Scale the use and adoption of data, networks, technology, and AI for the digital transformation of social impact organizations (SIOs) focused on small business growth and financial health.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams to build two-way roads to provide a social impact lens to business teams, and leveraging business expertise in service of the Center's mission
oBuild internal coalitions and harness Mastercard's human capital and technology for social impact, working with Data for Good and Social Impact and other relevant teams to identify opportunities to leverage MA talent in support of the Center and its partners
• Manage and advise on a diverse portfolio of grants and partnerships aligned with the Tech for Good strategy, while delivering strong outcomes and outputs.
• Institutionalize data and AI-driven decision-making across the Center, supporting the team with the delivery, usability, and scaling of AI tools, infrastructure, and solutions for internal & external engagements.
oWork with the Center's Measurement & Evaluation lead on continuing to evolve the M&E frameworks and processes to drive towards data-driven decision-making
• Advise on data-related research projects- supporting in defining the research objectives and working with Research & Insights as well as partner organizations on outputs
oTranslate key inclusive insights from R&I team/reports into consumable visualizations, demos & prototypes ("knowledge Translation")
• Actively participate in technical communities and conversations to monitor emerging data science trends, use cases and breakthroughs in the field;
• Manage the Center's proprietary tools, including product development with the vendors, overseeing the delivery to users, and managing marketing and thought leadership activities.
• Support the data and AI maturity of the Center's grantees, working with the Global Programs team on the grantee engagement strategy, and leveraging internal and external partners to help advance organizational missions

All about you:
• Outcome driven; with experience providing innovative advanced analytical solutions that have lasting impact in multiple dimensions; strategic, operational and financial
• Experience with machine learning methods and data mining, utilizing advanced analytical techniques, algorithms, and methodologies (Python, R, SAS, etc.) preferred
• Experience managing philanthropic grants in the tech for good sector
• Strong track record as an innovator and implementer as evidenced by direct leadership of complex projects, senior roles in product development, or other comparable experiences
• Strong, established network in the data for good field
• Proven skills in visioning, planning and delivery of strategic analytical systems, products, applications and data to support a complex organization and ambitious social impact agenda
• Strong business and interpersonal skills and the ability to work cross-functionally in a matrixed organization
• Ability to translate complex information into actionable insights
• Attention to detail and ability to work with urgency
• Proven ability to manage complex technical projects with cross-functional teams.
• Good understanding of global privacy, data protection and AI regulatory principles and standards
• Self-motivated and capable of working independently in a fast-paced environment
• Experience with philanthropic or nonprofit funding cycles and impact measurement
• Excellent English oral and written communication skills, including well developed public speaking skills
• Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Public Policy, or a related field with 5+ years of experience in a relevant technical role. [preferred]

In line with Mastercard's total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in Canada, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive pay based on location, experience and other qualifications for the role and may be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program.
