Director - Payments and Cash Management Solutions

Global Transaction Banking

Accountabilities:

  • Develop and implement strategies to identify and secure new payments and cash management business
  • Serve as a payments and cash management solutions subject matter expert with Treasury Management Officer (TMO) on a defined set of products and capabilities with a deep understanding of our clients' needs and current industry trends; Offering technical and product related assistance and solutions to TMOs in pursuit of new clients and/or in support of expansion opportunities with existing clients; either on the phone or in-person sales presentations.
  • Support TMO in building short and long term strategies for cash management and payments growth, working in conjunction with relationship managers, product and planning teams
  • Contribute to the clients' and GTB business goals by providing the right cash management and payments solutions, that retains and increases the overall profitability of the client relationship while maintaining an acceptable level of risk
  • Frequent attendance at client meetings to articulate value proposition to support clients needs and develop / manage client relationships
  • Gathering client user feedback, monitoring product performance, and iterating functionality based on market response to ensure the product meets customer needs.
  • Collaborating with marketing and sales to develop go-to-market strategies and ensure a successful product launch and own commercial performance
  • Communicating with various stakeholders (executives, other teams) about client solution delivery, product progress, challenges, and performance.
  • Present and lead dialogue in leadership forums and with bankers; proven confidence to present at industry forums and working groups
  • Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities, client targeting and solution positioning and decisions.
  • Create an environment in which his/her team pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Guidelines for Business Conduct.
  • Champions and contributes to a high-performance environment and work within a team that fosters an inclusive work environment and using a coaching mindset and behaviors; communicating vision/values/business strategy; and, managing succession and development planning for the team.


Requirements:

  • Self-starter possessing confidence and initiative; able to cope with changing and evolving priorities while identifying new opportunities
  • Proven ability to present cash management solutions to clients to achieve commercial success, with an ability to think creatively to tailor offerings to client needs, researching a clients' industry and strategically preparing materials that will resonate in the market
  • Excellent written and oral communication, interpersonal, and strategic negotiating skills
  • Demonstrated a history of successful business development activity with complex clients
  • Knowledge of payments, industry trends and practices, innovative digital platforms, policies and procedures an asset
  • 10+ years experience with transaction banking products including knowledge of channels and payment solutions, P&L ownership, cross-functional leadership and mentoring and fostering a high-performing team
  • Product management expertise to enable thorough understanding of products/services
  • A positive attitude combined with confidence to drive team priorities
  • Knowledge of the Bank's application systems and their relationships within the Bank is an asset
  • University Degree in business, economics, or technology (MBA an asset)
