In this role, you will drive the integrated delivery of CRE services across portfolio strategy, transactions, capital projects, facilities management, and workplace operations. As a trusted business partner to senior leaders, you'll shape the future of RBC's real estate and workplace strategies while ensuring operational excellence, risk mitigation, and an exceptional employee experience across Canada.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

  • Lead real estate and workplace strategy across the Canadian portfolio in partnership with Global CRE Centers of Excellence, identifying opportunities to optimize asset utilization, efficiency, and long-term value.
  • Provide senior leadership and oversight during significant building, facilities, and workplace incidents, coordinating rapid response across internal teams, service providers, and stakeholders while ensuring minimal business disruption.
  • Provide strategic oversight of third-party suppliers and outsourced service providers, establishing clear performance expectations and accountability while leveraging industry relationships to identify best-in-class solutions.
  • Provide oversight of operating and capital budgets and forecasts, ensuring strong financial controls, challenging new commitments against approved budgets, and delivering against CRE savings targets.
  • Drive operational excellence with a strong focus on risk management, governance, and compliance, ensuring RBC premises comply with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and provide safe environments for employees and clients.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team of CRE professionals across a matrixed environment, establishing clear objectives, accountability, and fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Proactively identify and resolve service delivery issues, driving initiatives that minimize operational downtime and improve client experience, productivity, and operational effectiveness.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?

Must Have:
  • 10+ years of progressive Corporate Real Estate experience with strong knowledge of facilities operations, portfolio management, and project/capital delivery.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience, including leading and developing teams and direct reports in complex, matrixed organizations.
  • Strong portfolio management and senior client/business relationship management experience with the ability to influence decision-making across multiple stakeholders.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare and deliver concise executive-level communications and handle sensitive escalations professionally.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience managing operating and capital budgets, forecasts, cost controls, and driving savings initiatives.

Nice to Have:
  • Experience managing complex incidents, executive escalations, and business-critical facilities issues in large organizations.
  • Strong understanding of outsourced facilities management and experience overseeing large third-party service-provider relationships.
  • Demonstrated experience with portfolio optimization initiatives and workplace transformation programs.
  • Familiarity with business operations in the financial services industry.

What's in it for you?

  • A comprehensive Total Rewards Program including bonuses and flexible benefits, competitive compensation, commissions, and stock where applicable
  • Leaders who support your development through coaching and managing opportunities
  • Ability to make a difference and lasting impact
  • Work in a dynamic, collaborative, progressive, and high-performing team
