Full Job Description
Job Description:

Join a passionate team dedicated to pushing the boundaries of programmable logic and fostering a culture of innovation as we drive our next phase of growth.

Duties

We are seeking a Director of Business Development for Networking and Communications to drive our growth within the networking systems and AI infrastructure ecosystem. This role is specifically for a networking systems BD leader with ownership of secure-control and sideband insertion points. You will be responsible for identifying and driving FPGA insertion points in networking systems-specifically switches, routers, and high-performance NIC cards-where secure control, sideband connectivity, platform management, and lifecycle security are required alongside the primary switching silicon.

Responsibilities
  • Strategic Marketing & Positioning
    • Drive Lattice's positioning as a critical provider for networking system architectures, including switching and routing platforms, with an emphasis on secure-control and sideband functions.
    • Develop and refine GTM plans that articulate Lattice's unique value in power efficiency and hardware security for next-generation communications infrastructure.
    • Monitor the evolution of networking protocols to ensure Lattice solutions remain the industry standard for disaggregated and secure-control management.
  • Business Development
    • Identify and capture key insertion points for FPGA logic within the networking hardware stack, focusing on the secure control plane, sideband interfaces, and platform management.
    • Drive revenue growth by positioning Lattice silicon where telemetry, hardware RoT, and lifecycle control are required alongside high-performance switching and NIC silicon.
    • Build deep technical relationships with networking system architects and security owners at Tier-1 OEMs to ensure Lattice is designed into the management layer of next-generation platforms.
  • Ecosystem Engagement
    • Influence architecture and platform decisions by engaging deeply with networking system architects, infrastructure teams, and manageability owners (beyond just ASIC/PHY teams).
    • Represent Lattice within industry consortia to influence the trajectory of networking standards and platform requirements.
  • Cultivate a robust ecosystem of hardware partners, including silicon peers like Broadcom and Marvell, to create integrated solutions for shared customers.
  • Leadership & Teamwork
    • Work across functional teams, including engineering, sales, and operations, to align strategies and ensure seamless execution of initiatives.
    • Act as a change agent, driving alignment on objectives and priorities within global teams and external partners.
  • Market Insights & Analysis
    • Conduct thorough market research and analysis to stay ahead of industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive dynamics.
    • Provide actionable insights to influence product roadmaps and business strategies.
  • Communication & Storytelling
    • Develop compelling narratives that clearly articulate the company's value in networking and infrastructure platforms.
    • Act as a primary spokesperson for the networking vertical at industry events, customer summits, and executive briefings.

Qualifications

The successful candidate should have at least 10 years of working experience with increasing executive responsibility, culminating in a business development leadership role in the computer networking and / or hyperscaler ecosystem.

A bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer science, or related technical field is required. A graduate degree in marketing, business administration, or a related field is preferred.

Experience
  • Networking Expertise: Deep experience in wireline networking systems, including switches, routers, and NIC-based platforms, with a strong understanding of how control-plane, sideband, and management functions integrate into high-performance networking designs.
  • Data Center Networking Knowledge: Extensive depth on the networking side of the data center, including hyperscale and disaggregated fabrics, with specific familiarity with BMC/SMC/RMC adjacency, sideband channels, and secure lifecycle management.
  • Hardware Architecture: Deep familiarity with the "silicon side" of networking; candidates should possess a "hardware-first" mindset typical of those from Broadcom, Marvell, or Cisco who understand the physical constraints of the networking rack.
  • Dynamic Career Arc: The ideal candidate started their career in network engineering or network architecture and has migrated to customer-facing GTM roles over recent years. S/he is adept at technical solutioning with customers and can address a need before a customer knows it exists.
  • Customer and Partner Orientation: Proven experience partnering with tier-1 networking OEMs and silicon providers to drive design wins. This person can point to relationships they have built over the years in this ecosystem.
  • Marketing Expertise: Strong background in vertical/segment marketing, including go-to-market strategy and customer engagement.
  • Strategic BD Skills: A track record of creating new business opportunities that have led to significant revenue gain for companies in the semiconductor, networking and datacenter ecosystems.

Personal Characteristics
  • A high-ownership individual - someone who is intrinsically motivated and self-directed. This person has a natural ability to identify new opportunities and prioritize high-potential leads.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to influence internal and external stakeholders effectively.
  • Strong leadership presence, technical credibility, and the ability to motivate and influence cross-functional teams.
  • A continuous learner that is starving to stay one-step ahead of industry trends.
  • A structured, metrics-driven approach to execution, with the ability to track performance, identify trends, and continuously improve.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, enabling them to advance ambitious long-term plans while navigating execution risks, uncertainty, and aggressive timelines.
  • A high-integrity, collaborative individual who values the team's success over individual gain.
  • An exceptional storyteller who can articulate the value proposition of Lattice's technology to the cloud ecosystem.
