The Job:
We are seeking a strategic and experienced Director, Brand Experience Storyteller & Engagement to lead how the DEWALT story is brought to life at the Experience & Innovation Center (XIC) based in Towson, MD at the Stanley Black & Decker Tools & Outdoor headquarters. In this leadership role, you will serve as the primary voice and executive storyteller for the brand, engaging senior-level audiences—including C-suite leaders, site owners, end users, distributors and others—through immersive, high-impact experiences.
This role is responsible for translating real-world construction and industrial workflows into a compelling narrative that connects DEWALT’s solutions to tangible outcomes in safety, productivity, and performance. You will lead a small, high-performing team responsible for curating, preparing, and activating each experience, ensuring a seamless and differentiated visitor journey.
The ideal candidate brings deep experience in the construction or industrial space, strong executive presence, and the ability to connect jobsite realities to business impact through storytelling.
- Serve as the lead storyteller for XIC experiences, delivering a compelling, end-to-end DEWALT narrative tailored to diverse audiences
- Translate construction and industrial workflows into clear, outcome-driven value stories that highlight safety, productivity, and performance
- Engage and influence senior-level stakeholders, including C-suite leaders, customers, distributors, and site owners
- Own the end-to-end experience flow, including narrative arc, pacing, transitions, and integration of demonstrations and subject matter experts
- Partner in evolving the DEWALT master story, translating it into scalable, modular storytelling frameworks that enable tailored experiences across audiences
- Work cross-functionally with product, sales, brand, and end user teams to incorporate key inputs and ensure events are connected to and reflective of broader business priorities
- Capture insights from executive conversations and visitor engagement, using feedback to inform product development, marketing, and experience enhancements
- Lead and develop a small team responsible for adapting and activating the story for each visitor, ensuring consistency and excellence in delivery
- Coach team members and subject matter experts to elevate storytelling, presentation effectiveness, and audience engagement
The Person:

- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Construction Management, Marketing, Communications, or a related field
- 10–15+ years of experience in construction, industrial, or trade-related environments, with strong understanding of jobsite workflows and customer dynamics
- Proven ability to engage and influence senior-level executives and external stakeholders through strong executive presence and communication skills
- Deep understanding of construction workflows across the project lifecycle (design, pre-construction, pre-fabrication, and jobsite execution)
- Experience translating complex technical or operational concepts into clear, compelling, and outcome-driven narratives
- Demonstrated leadership experience, including managing and developing teams delivering customer-facing experiences
- Proven ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams and align stakeholders to deliver a cohesive experience
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to leverage insights for continuous improvement
- Passion for connecting real-world challenges to solutions that improve safety productivity, safety, and performance
- Must be able to remain on your feet for extended periods and move items as required.

The Salary range for this position is $115,800.00 - $199,800.00
This is the lowest to highest annual full-time salary range we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. The salary offered within the range may vary depending on multiple factors including job level, geographic location, job-related knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience and in compliance with local wage requirements. Please note that salary is only one component of total rewards at Stanley Black & Decker.
