Full Job Description
The Opportunity

We sell into some of the largest and most sophisticated enterprises in financial services. We're looking for a Director of Marketing who can act as a force multiplier for our enterprise sales team, own product marketing end to end, design and build out marketing channels and enablement strategy for both enterprise and advisors, and drive an in-person and event strategy that accelerates deals and wins trust.

This role reports directly to our Chief Commercial Officer and sits at the intersection of sales, product, and marketing. You'll be measured on driving real business outcomes, such as shorter cycles, higher win rates, sharper product launches, and pipeline from new segments.

We're looking for an athlete and a generalist: someone who can set the strategy across all of these areas and then get in and build it themselves. You'll own this function end to end, with a direct line to executive leadership, and real influence over how we win our biggest deals, launch our biggest products, and grow our business.

This is a critical role with room to grow: you'll have the opportunity to build and lead a team over time as the company and function scales.

What You'll Do

1. Product Marketing (~30%)
  • Lead go-to-market for new product launches and feature announcements to existing enterprise partners and prospects
  • Develop positioning and messaging that holds up in front of sophisticated, risk-averse financial services buyers
  • Own the narrative and proof points (case studies, ROI data, reference customers) that sales and partnerships teams pull from in every deal
  • Track competitive landscape and translate it into usable sales intelligence
  • Build out our content to support overall company narrative and product positioning and messaging (e.g. PR, newsletters, webinars, whitepapers, blog posts)
  • Ensure that our company website accurately and persuasively conveys our core value props for key audiences

2. Enterprise GTM & Deal Acceleration (~30%)
  • Partner with the Chief Commercial Officer to build out reusable assets for the enterprise sales toolkit: pitch decks, ROI/business case templates, competitive battlecards, objection-handling guides, security/compliance one-pagers
  • Collaborate with AEs and deal teams on active large-logo opportunities, tailoring 1:1 materials for specific buying committees or enterprise opportunities
  • Build 1:1 or 1:many ABM plays for key target accounts that help shorten deal cycles and remove key friction points

3. Events & Field Marketing (~15%)
  • Run a lean, high-ROI events calendar: industry conferences (e.g., fintech, retirement/wealth), executive dinners, partner co-marketing events
  • Manage speaking opportunities, sponsorships, and executive presence at the handful of events that actually influence enterprise buying committees
  • Measure events by pipeline influence and deal acceleration

4. Advisor Channel Expansion (~15%)
  • Collaborate on the go-to-market strategy for reaching and converting financial advisors as a new demand source: this is 0-to-1 work, not optimization of an existing channel
  • Determine the right channel mix (content, webinars, advisor associations/networks, partner co-marketing with existing enterprise clients who have advisor bases, direct outreach) and build a testable plan
  • Define what "good" looks like for this motion; comfortable setting initial hypotheses and metrics rather than executing someone else's playbook

5. Brand (~10%)
  • Own how Capitalize shows up to enterprise buyers, partners, and the advisor community
  • Build out our visual and verbal identity and develop a consistent voice and brand across every touchpoint for all audiences
  • Manage our corporate communications and social calendar to support overall company announcements, product updates, and narrative

What You'll Bring
  • 7-10+ years in B2B marketing with depth in product marketing or building go-to-market programs for complex enterprise sales motions
  • Familiar with a high-ACV, enterprise sales motion and has previous experience selling to or marketing to large, regulated buyers such as financial services, insurance, healthcare, or enterprise HR/benefits are strong analogs
  • Sharp writer and storyteller who can turn complex product detail into something our buyers will actual read
  • Fluent in the modern GTM stack and comfortable recommending new tools as needs evolve (e.g., Clay for data enrichment/workflows, Profound or similar for AI-search visibility, plus core CRM/marketing ops tools).
  • Previous experience at an early-stage, high-growth startup a plus
  • Bonus points: background in retirement, wealth management, RIA/advisor, or benefits/401(k) space, or experience marketing to financial advisors specifically

Compensation & Benefits
