Description

Job Purpose: The Director of ASC Clinical Operations provides clinical and operational leadership for Georgia Urology's ambulatory surgery centers, with responsibility for supporting standardized workflows, regulatory compliance, quality outcomes, staffing effectiveness, and efficient site operations. This position works collaboratively with ASC leadership, Nurse Managers, physicians, and executive leadership to advance organizational goals and ensure safe, consistent, patient-centered care across all ASC locations. This position reports to the Senior Director, ASCs.

JOB FUNCTIONS:

Clinical Management
• Provides on-site clinical operational leadership and oversight for ASC performance across all Georgia Urology surgery center locations.
• Collaborates with ASC leaders, Nurse Managers, physicians, and executive leadership to improve efficiency and quality outcomes.
• Ensures ASC operations are aligned with organizational goals, CMS requirements, AAAHC standards, state regulations, and internal policies.
• Oversees OAS CAHPS reporting compliance, including coordination of required survey processes, monitoring submission expectations, and supporting timely follow-up on patient experience reporting requirements.
• Oversees the ASC risk management program, including identification, reporting, analysis, mitigation, and follow-up of clinical and operational risks in collaboration with organizational leadership.
• Maintain compliance and accreditation according to AAAHC and State/Fed requirements.

Operations
• Supports strategic planning, standardization, workflow improvement, and operational alignment across ASC sites.
• Develops staffing plans in collaboration with ASC leadership and Nurse Managers to support safe, efficient, and compliant surgery center operations.
• Reviews operational performance data, identifies trends, and leads initiatives to improve access, utilization, productivity, patient experience, and financial performance.
• Leads or supports implementation of new programs, procedures, service lines, equipment needs, and process improvement initiatives.
• Provides escalation support for operational barriers, staffing concerns, vendor issues, compliance risks, and facility-level performance challenges.
• Upholds and implements organizational policy and procedures in conjunction with Governing Body.
• Other duties as assigned

People Management
• Supports Nurse Managers in developing department goals, identifying training needs, mentoring clinical staff, and maintaining consistent leadership practices across ASC locations.
• Provides direct leadership, supervision, coaching, and support to ASC Nurse Managers to promote consistent clinical operations, effective communication, and accountability across surgery center locations.
• Manages Nurse Manager performance expectations, including regular follow-up on operational priorities, staffing effectiveness, clinical compliance, employee engagement, and site-level performance objectives.
• Conducts routine check-ins with Nurse Managers to review clinical operations, address barriers, reinforce standardized practices, and support timely resolution of personnel, patient care, and workflow concerns.
• Participates in recruitment, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and retention efforts for Nurse Managers and ASC clinical staff in collaboration with Human Resources and ASC leadership.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

Knowledge:
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited nursing program required; current ACLS certification required.
• Minimum of five years of progressive perioperative nursing experience required, including pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-anesthesia care experience; prior ASC leadership or management experience strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated knowledge of ambulatory surgery center operations, regulatory and accreditation requirements, clinical workflow standardization, quality improvement, staffing models, and patient safety practices required.

Skills & Abilities:

Computer literacy:

Experience using healthcare technology systems, including electronic medical record (EMR) platforms, practice management systems, reporting tools, and Microsoft products such as Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, and PowerPoint; experience with NextGen and Surgical Information Systems (SIS) preferred.

Ability to acquire a thorough knowledge of and adhere to all Georgia Urology clinical policies and procedures.

Certificates/Licenses/Registrations:

R.N. Licensure is required.

Driving Requirements:

A valid State of Georgia Driver's License and reliable transportation is required.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

Work Environment: Fast-paced environment with a lot of walking and standing. Occasional overtime may be required and/or hours may be shortened as business needs dictate.
