What You'll Be Doing

You will join CIBC's Digital and CX Technology (DCXT) group as the Director, Application Reliability Engineering - Operations, responsible for the production operations and reliability of multiple Tier 1 Contact Center and Banking Center applications. You will lead the implementation of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) best practices to drive operational excellence, resiliency, and automation across these mission-critical platforms.

How You'll Succeed
  • Strategic and Proactive SRE Leadership: Direct and manage all aspects of production support and reliability engineering for large, complex, mission-critical applications. Anticipate, detect, and address production-related issues proactively using advanced monitoring, observability, and automation. Define, educate, and enforce SRE processes, guidelines, and practices-such as service level objectives (SLOs), error budgets, and incident response protocols-to minimize impact and maximize uptime. Drive continuous improvement and application resiliency through post-incident reviews, root cause analyses, and reliability-focused engineering.
  • Relationship Management: Manage relationships with delivery areas, business partners, and vendors; interface and maintain communications, lead incident resolution, monitor business escalation and technology change roadmap to provide on-time response and support. Proactively manage offshore vendor relationships for support resources to ensure effective utilization and resolution of incidents around the clock.
  • Automation and Operational Excellence: Lead the adoption of automation in operational tasks, monitoring, alerting, and recovery to reduce manual intervention and optimize reliability. Establish robust CI/CD pipelines and release management processes to support rapid, safe, and reliable deployments.
  • Strong Leadership: Be a bold and authentic leader who is passionate about developing and coaching to bring out the best in people. Direct, motivate, develop, and manage performance of the management team and key staff focused on Application Support, Incident and Problem management, and SRE practices.

  • You can demonstrate 10+ years of experience. in Application Support, Incident Management, Problem management, for Digital technology, Cloud technology, Integration Patterns and Security. You will be able to adapt to the fast paced environment. You have a strong operations and development background within a financial institution. You have experience managing and maintaining Enterprise Tier 1 Critical Applications which runs 24/7/365. You possess a team-oriented behavior that engages your team members for the knowledge and ability they bring to the table to determine corrective course of action, determine root cause and correction
  • You have managed and maintained Enterprise Tier 1 Critical Applications with 24/7/365 operations, utilizing SRE principles to ensure reliability, scalability, and performance.
