Position Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated Accounting Policy professional to join our Finance organization. This individual will be responsible for researching, interpreting, and documenting accounting guidance for complex transactions, supporting the implementation of new accounting standards, and partnering across Finance, Treasury, Legal, Operations, and Business teams to ensure accurate accounting treatment and financial reporting.

The ideal candidate combines strong technical accounting expertise with excellent communication and project management skills and thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Primary Responsibilities
• Research, analyze, and document accounting conclusions for complex and non-routine transactions under U.S. GAAP.
• Prepare and maintain accounting memoranda supporting technical accounting positions and policy decisions.
• Monitor, assess, and implement new and emerging accounting standards and regulatory guidance.
• Partner with business leaders, Finance, Treasury, Legal, Tax, and Operations teams to evaluate accounting implications of strategic initiatives, transactions, and new products.
• Support quarterly and annual financial reporting processes, including preparation of technical accounting disclosures.
• Assist with external audit requests and facilitate discussions with auditors on significant accounting matters.
• Develop, maintain, and enhance accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, documentation, and governance frameworks.
• Provide technical accounting guidance and mentorship to members of the Finance organization.
• Participate in special projects, including acquisitions, organizational initiatives, system implementations, and process transformation efforts.

Qualifications and Experience

Required
• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
• CPA certification required.
• 5-10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including a combination of public accounting and/or corporate accounting policy experience.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
• Experience conducting technical accounting research and preparing accounting position papers.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a deadline-driven environment.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Preferred
• Experience within financial services, banking, asset management, capital markets, or structured finance environments.
• Exposure to SEC reporting requirements.
• Experience evaluating accounting treatment for complex financial instruments, securitizations, acquisitions, or strategic transactions.
• Familiarity with internal control frameworks and SOX compliance requirements.

Base Salary Range

$250,000-$300,000

The base salary range for this position is listed above. This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus based on personal, team, and Firm performance. Compensation ranges are based on several factors including job function, level, and geographic location. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including candidate experience and expertise and may vary from the amounts listed here.
