Le gestionnairesupervise l'ensemble des activités d'ingénierie à Mirabel liées aux systèmes d'instrumentation d'essais en vol et aux opérations du Centre de données des essais en vol. Cela inclut la conception, l'installation, la maintenance et l'exploitation de l'instrumentation embarquée, des systèmes de télémétrie ainsi que de l'infrastructure informatique au sol utilisée pour la surveillance en temps réel, le traitement, la réduction, la distribution et l'archivage des données. Fonctions clés :
• Diriger l'ensemble des activités d'ingénierie liées à l'instrumentation d'essais en vol, aux opérations de télémétrie et à la gestion du centre de données.
• Superviser la définition, la conception, l'installation, la validation et la maintenance des systèmes d'instrumentation aéronautique (capteurs, DAUs, câblage, interfaces, architecture d'enregistrement de données).
• Assurer la conformité aux normes de sécurité et de navigabilité; approuver les architectures d'instrumentation.
• Gérer le dépannage, l'étalonnage, le contrôle de configuration et la documentation.
• Diriger les opérations de télémétrie, incluant les systèmes CAFTA, les récepteurs RF S-band, les combineurs, PCM, IADS, la télémétrie mobile et les ressources de traitement de données au sol.
• Garantir la réduction, la distribution et l'archivage des données post-vol de manière précise et ponctuelle, ainsi que la sécurité des systèmes et la gestion des accès utilisateurs.
• Planifier et mettre en œuvre l'automatisation et les améliorations informatiques pour le traitement des données.
• Coordonner le soutien aux sites d'essais externes et assurer la fonctionnalité de l'instrumentation, de la télémétrie et des réseaux.
• Assurer le leadership des équipes d'Instrumentation, de Réduction de données et du Centre de données : dotation, performance, formation, embauche, promotions et gestion budgétaire.
• Diriger la planification à long terme pour les mises à niveau d'instrumentation, de télémétrie et des systèmes informatiques; favoriser l'amélioration continue.
• Collaborer étroitement avec les équipes d'Essais en vol, les équipes technologiques et l'entretien des installations pour soutenir les objectifs d'essais et la fiabilité de l'infrastructure.

Qualifications minimales requises :
• Baccalauréat en ingénierie et au moins huit (8) années d'expérience pertinente.
• Toute combinaison équivalente d'éducation et d'expérience pertinente sera considérée.
• Connaissance des systèmes d'instrumentation d'essais en vol.
• Maîtrise de la télémétrie S-band, des systèmes RF, de la synchronisation, PCM, SOQPSK.
• Expérience avec les systèmes d'acquisition de données, DAUs, câblage et interfaces.

Job description Summary

The Manager, Flight test Instrumentation & Data Center supervises all engineering activities in Mirabel related to aircraft flight-test instrumentation systems and Flight Test Data Center operations. This includes the design, installation, maintenance, and operation of airborne instrumentation, telemetry systems, and the ground-based computing infrastructure used for real-time monitoring, data processing, reduction, distribution, and archival. The organization provides engineering results from data gathered during flight, ground, and shake tests, supporting aircraft development, certification, and product improvement. The manager ensures state-of-the-art airborne and ground systems, continuous improvement, operational reliability, and efficient data-processing workflows.

This role ensures seamless integration between airborne instrumentation, telemetry systems, ground-based computing hardware, and post-flight processing tools.

Key functions:
• Lead all engineering activities for flight-test instrumentation, telemetry operations, and data-center management.
• Oversee definition, design, installation, validation, and maintenance of aircraft instrumentation systems (sensors, DAUs, wiring, interfaces, data-recording architecture).
• Ensure compliance with safety and airworthiness standards; approve instrumentation architecture.
• Manage troubleshooting, calibration, configuration control, and documentation.
• Direct telemetry operations, including CAFTA systems, S-band RF receivers, PCM, IADS, mobile telemetry, and ground data-processing resources.
• Ensure timely and accurate post-flight data reduction, distribution, archival, system security, and user access control.
• Plan and implement automation and computing improvements for data processing.
• Coordinate offsite test-site support and ensure proper instrumentation, telemetry, and network functionality.
• Provide leadership across Instrumentation, Data Reduction, and Data Center teams: staffing, performance, training, hiring, promotions, and budgeting.
• Lead long-term planning for instrumentation, telemetry, and computing upgrades; drive continuous improvement.
• Collaborate closely with Flight Test Engineering, IT, technology teams, and facility maintenance to support test objectives and infrastructure reliability.

Minimum required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in engineering and a minimum of eight (8) years related experience.
• All combinations of related education and relevant experience will be considered
• Flight-test instrumentation systems.
• S-band telemetry, RF systems, bit synchronization, PCM, SOQPSK.
• Data acquisition systems, DAUs, wiring, interfaces.
