OverviewReporting to the System Vice President of Strategy, the Director, Strategic Planning serves as the strategic leader for an assigned market within UF Health. This role is responsible for developing and executing market-level strategic plans that drive growth, improve performance, and align with enterprise priorities.
As a trusted advisor to senior leadership, you will identify new opportunities, evaluate market trends, build strategic partnerships, and oversee implementation of initiatives from concept through execution. This is a highly visible role with significant autonomy and the opportunity to leave your fingerprint on the foundation of a newly established enterprise strategy function.
Responsibilities- Lead the development and execution of comprehensive market strategic plans aligned with enterprise goals.
- Identify and evaluate growth opportunities through market research, competitive analysis, and industry trends.
- Partner with Market Presidents, physician leaders, Finance, Marketing, and operational teams to align priorities and drive strategic initiatives.
- Translate strategic priorities into actionable implementation plans with defined timelines, financial impact, and measurable outcomes.
- Lead market-specific strategy engagements, including partnership implementation, facility optimization, and other transformational initiatives.
- Support mergers, acquisitions, and integration planning in collaboration with Finance and System Strategy leadership.
- Develop financial targets, performance metrics, dashboards, and executive reporting to monitor strategic progress.
- Build strong collaborative relationships across the organization, including College of Medicine leadership and key physician stakeholders.
- Prioritize competing opportunities and guide leadership toward the initiatives with the greatest strategic value.
- Mentor and develop strategy analysts while helping establish best practices, governance, and strategic planning processes.
QualificationsMinimum Qualifications- Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree (MBA, MHA, MPH, or related field) preferred.
- Five or more years of progressive experience in healthcare strategy, management consulting, corporate strategy, business development, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience leading strategic initiatives from concept through execution.
- Strong financial acumen with the ability to evaluate growth opportunities, return on investment, and business performance.
- Experience working with executive leadership and influencing decisions across complex organizations.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and build alignment among diverse stakeholders.
- Experience developing executive presentations, strategic plans, and performance reporting.
- Demonstrated success mentoring or leading team members.
