Full Job Description
Overview

The Digital Solutions Engineer is a hands-on practitioner responsible for configuring, building, operating, and supporting Adobe Experience Cloud platforms on a daily basis. This role spends the majority of time working directly inside AEM, Workfront, Adobe Journey Optimizer, and Adobe Campaign, implementing workflows, campaigns, automations, integrations, and fixes-not just designing them.

This role is heavily execution-focused (≈70-80% hands-on build/support, ≈20-30% solution design and stakeholder interaction) and is ideal for someone who enjoys making systems work better through direct configuration and hands-on problem solving.

Responsibilities

Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) - Hands-On Work
  • Build and maintain AEM Assets configurations, including:
    • Metadata schemas, folder structures, naming standards, and taxonomies
    • Asset workflows for ingestion, review, approvals, and publishing
    • Permission models and access controls
  • Troubleshoot AEM issues directly in the environment (metadata not applying, workflows failing, permission conflicts, asset sync issues).
  • Support DAM operations and downstream consumption by marketing, creative, and execution platforms.
  • Coordinate and execute DAM migrations and cleanup efforts.

Adobe Workfront - Hands-On Administration & Automation
  • Configure and support Workfront portfolios, programs, projects, tasks, and issues.
  • Build and continuously refine:
    • Custom forms and calculated fields
    • Approval workflows
    • Reports and dashboards
  • Set up and manage security groups, roles, access levels, and user permissions.
  • Actively build and maintain Workfront Fusion automations, such as:
    • Ingesting requests
    • Syncing data to/from AEM or other systems
    • Automating handoffs, notifications, and status updates
  • Perform ongoing system cleanup and optimization (unused fields, outdated workflows, broken automations).

Integrations & Automation (Very Hands-On)
  • Build, test, and maintain integrations using:
    • Workfront Fusion
    • Adobe APIs and REST endpoints
    • Adobe I/O where applicable
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and fix integration failures.
  • Actively reduce manual effort by automating repetitive operational processes.

Adobe Journey Optimizer (AJO) - Hands-On Journeys & Messaging
  • Build and maintain AJO journeys, including:
    • Batch and real-time journeys
    • Event and audience triggers
    • Decisioning logic
  • Configure and support messaging execution (email and other supported channels).
  • Troubleshoot data, identity, audience qualification, and delivery issues.
  • Support the transition of use cases from Adobe Campaign to AJO where applicable.

Adobe Campaign - Hands-On Campaign Execution
  • Build and operate campaign workflows and deliveries in Adobe Campaign (Classic or v8).
  • Configure data mappings, targeting logic, and scheduling.
  • Support operational execution including testing, QA, and troubleshooting failed workflows or deliveries.
  • Assist with campaign optimization and migration planning.

Implementation & Support Responsibilities
  • Take requirements and directly implement them in the platforms-not just document them.
  • Own features and enhancements from build through production support.
  • Provide day-to-day platform support for active users and delivery teams.
  • Participate in working sessions to whiteboard practical implementations that can be delivered quickly.
  • Document configs clearly so others can support and extend them.

Role Characteristics (Important)
  • This is not a strategy-only role
  • This is not a PM role
  • This is not a "design it and hand it off" role

This role:
  • Builds it
  • Fixes it
  • Automates it
  • Supports it

How Success Is Measured
  • Platforms are stable, usable, and well-configured
  • Manual work is reduced through automation
  • Users can operate independently due to good configs and documentation
  • Integrations and workflows work reliably at scale

Qualifications

Required Experience (Hands-On Focused)

Platform Experience
  • 4-7+ years of hands-on experience working directly in Adobe platforms, not just managing them.
  • Strong, demonstrated experience with:
    • Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) - especially Assets
    • Adobe Workfront, including deep configuration and admin work
  • Interest to Learn, or have had exposure to:
    • Adobe Journey Optimizer (AJO) and/or Adobe Campaign
  • Proven experience building automations and integrations, especially via Workfront Fusion.

Execution Skills
  • Comfortable working directly in production environments.
  • Strong troubleshooting instincts - able to diagnose issues by inspecting configurations, workflows, logs, and integrations.
  • Able to manage multiple active workstreams and production issues at once.

Preferred Experience
  • Adobe Experience Platform (AEP) exposure.
  • Adobe certifications (AEM, Workfront, Campaign, AJO).
  • Experience supporting enterprise-scale marketing operations.
  • Familiarity with enterprise data platforms (e.g., Databricks, Snowflake) is a plus.
