Position title: Digital Product Owner

Department: Digital Strategy

Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid)

About the job

Ready to push the limits of what's possible? Join Sanofi in one of our corporate functions and you can play a vital part in the performance of our entire business while helping to make an impact on millions around the world.

We're looking for a Digital Product Owner to drive the development, delivery, adoption and continuous improvement of digital products. You'll work at the intersection of user needs, data, and organizational strategy to drive the AI-first transformation journey that we are on - defining problems worth solving, shaping measurable outcome-based goals, and partnering with cross-functional teams to deliver real value. This is a hands-on role for someone who communicates with clarity, deciphers ambiguity, and knows how to keep a team moving in the right direction with discipline.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Creating product strategy and connecting the dots: Understand the key elements of our transformation journey and bring them together in a cohesive, programmatic manner to be able to execute on, bringing product features and functions to life that drive impact. Measuring what matters will be key with a cadence of deployments and releases of the product to drive the right behaviors and shifts in ways of working.
  • Shape the product vision with clarity: Shape the vision of the product, define the single north star metric that determines the effectiveness and utility of your product, define clear, measurable outcomes tied to user behavior and product value. Prioritize work based on evidence and impact, not urgency or pressure. Create outcome-oriented sprint goals that give teams a shared sense of purpose. Present the vision, north star metric and roadmap to executive audiences for sponsorship and buy in to scale.
  • Drive dual-track discovery and delivery: Support a product trio (Product Owner, Engineering, Design) to continuously explore and deliver value. Define hypotheses and learning goals each sprint. Run experiments to validate ideas before committing full engineering investment - balancing discovery and delivery with clarity and adaptability. Leverage portfolio data available to support hypotheses generation and testing.
  • Build shared understanding: Use story mapping, journey mapping, and collaborative design sessions to align teams around the why before jumping to the how. Bring stakeholders into discovery, testing, and co-creation at the right moments. Make dependencies, trade-offs, and priorities visible and legible across the team.
  • Spur Innovation: Define the innovation strategy and direction for the digital organization. Execute upon the plan in a matrixed organization through influence, not authority. Leverage ecosystem partners and suppliers that can help accelerate innovation to impact.
  • Engage & Align Stakeholders Work closely with business SMEs, leadership, compliance, tech, and design. Use storytelling to rally diverse stakeholders around problems and outcomes. Bring stakeholders into discovery and co-creation where possible, building trust and shared ownership of the product direction.
  • Enable & support end-users through adoption strategy: Prepare and deliver end-user training, coordinate rollout communications, provide hypercare, and build lightweight support assets (how-to, walkthroughs, FAQs). Turn user feedback into actionable improvements and measurable adoption gains.

About You
  • 3 years of experience in Product Management, Ownership and Development working in cross-functional teams or within a related role.
  • Bachelor's degree in STEM or a related field required; Master's degree preferred.
  • Support large organizational transformations with the use of AI tooling to support optimization in work habits
  • Skilled at balancing discovery and delivery with clarity and adaptability
  • Drive executive presentations and storytelling on product vision, roadmap and benefit trajectory to support sponsorship and buy-in for scale
  • Experience defining program outcomes and measuring value realization
  • Comfortable with dual-track Agile, Lean Startup principles, and rapid validation
  • Track record of problem-solving and overcoming roadblocks in complex environments with a hands-on "get things done" mindset
  • Ability to develop 3-year strategic roadmaps and translate organizational strategy into executable product vision to tie in
  • Experience with budget ownership, ROI analysis, and business case development for major investments
  • Track record of building high-performing teams, succession planning, and developing future leaders
  • An understanding of industry trends, competitive landscape, and regulatory environment

Skills:
  • Strong communicator and facilitator; able to align diverse stakeholders including executive audiences. Able to surface tensions to governance forums for discussion and decision making
  • Discipline in delivery, ownership of outcomes and painting a vision to teams to set north star metrics on.
  • Cross-functional leadership and influencing skills with the ability to think strategically and partner across business and technology teams
  • Analytical and data-driven; comfortable using metrics to guide product decisions

Nice to Have:
  • Experience in pharmaceutical, life sciences, or other regulated industries
  • Familiarity with GenAI technologies and their application in enterprise products
  • Knowledge of portfolio management, finances, and program management
  • Background in digital transformation or enterprise data governance
  • Experience working in global, matrixed organizations
