About the role

  • The Digital Experience Developer supports the design, development, and maintenance of the customer's digital platforms, with a primary focus on Drupal-based web applications. The role includes frontend and backend development, secure coding, CI/CD workflows using Azure DevOps, and alignment with DevSecOps and Zero Trust practices.

What you'll do

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop, enhance, and maintain Drupal-based websites, templates, modules, and themes.
  • Implement front-end and back-end functionality using PHP, Twig, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and Drupal APIs.
  • Manage code changes, branching strategies, and deployments using Git and Azure DevOps pipelines.
  • Integrate Fortify on Demand static code scanning and remediate findings prior to release.
  • Support secure development practices aligned with DevSecOps, Zero Trust, and RMF A&A requirements.
  • Implement multi-environment deployment automation (build, test, release) using CI/CD pipelines.
  • Support and maintain web application infrastructure in Windows, Linux, and cloud environments.
  • Develop APIs and integrations for content, authentication, and data exchange across WarU systems.
  • Ensure digital content meets Section 508 accessibility requirements.
  • Troubleshoot incidents, support problem management, and coordinate with Tier II/Tier III as needed.
  • Evaluate and integrate approved AIenabled tools to enhance development workflows; conduct code reviews, static/dynamic testing, and vulnerability remediation to maintain secure, high quality application releases
  • Maintain accurate technical documentation, architecture descriptions, and system configurations.

Required Qualifications

  • US Citizen
  • Ability to obtain and/or maintain a government clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; or equivalent experience
  • 4+ years of Drupal front-end and back-end development experience
  • Proficiency with PHP, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and modern front-end practices
  • Experience using Git and Azure DevOps for version control and CI/CD
  • Familiarity with Fortify on Demand or similar static code analysis tools
  • Experience with secure coding, DevSecOps pipelines, and Zero Trust-aligned practices
  • Experience developing or consuming APIs
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex application and infrastructure issues
  • Strong documentation and communication skills
  • Understanding of Section 508 compliance requirements
  • CompTIA Security+ CE (or equivalent IAT Level II certification under DoD 8140, (CCNA Security, GSEC, CSA+/CySA+, SSCP)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with RMF, DoD cybersecurity controls, or FedRAMP environments
  • Familiarity with Drupal migrations (Migrate API, config migrations, content modeling)
  • Experience with cloud hosting, containers, or infrastructure-as-code
