Job Description

Texas Instruments is looking for an experienced and dynamic Digital Delivery and BIM/VDC Facilities Manager to join the Facilities Building Information Modeling team in Facilities Design & Engineering. In this role, you will lead the Information Management for BIM efforts for TI's expansion projects and existing facilities on a global level. You will be the champion of the software platforms used for facilities design, coordination and construction efforts. You will work closely with the project managers to drive the VDC effort. Role would include managing drafter/designer consultants that support construction and manufacturing equipment installation.

The ideal candidate will excel in a demanding and fast-paced environment where they will work as part of a strong and highly motivated team. You should be able to assist with the creation and management of Common Data Environments that bring initial facility concepts eventual digital twin enablement. Candidate should have excellent knowledge of software used for our Common Data Environment (CDE), Autodesk Construction Cloud, Autodesk Forma, AutoCAD, modeling, clash detection in various software, and project management. This role is a crucial support role within the Facilities Worldwide Construction Team. This team works closely with TI's sustaining facilities and manufacturing teams to improve or build new facilities and systems to work toward digital manufacturing simulation.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead the development of BIM/VDC digital delivery, standards, training and adoption across global projects.
    • Manage:
      • Implement BIM/VDC services on active new expansion projects and existing global sites.
      • Model authoring, versioning, and revisions; verify model quality and accuracy, coordinate model authoring of service providers and sub-trades.
      • Coordinate model turnover at project completion to the sustaining organizations.
    • Establish clear expectations for performance, accountability, and outcomes across internal teams and external partners on BIM/VDC processes and services.
    • Expand and encourage use of BIM/VDC services within Worldwide Facilities teams through presentations, training and visibility to external resources.
    • Remain current on the technologies available related to BIM/VDC and digital twin and supporting technologies and software.
    • Create project-specific:
      • BIM Project Execution Plans.
      • BIM/VDC coordination plans and schedules.
      • Requirements in BIM technical specifications, maintain up to date according to TI and industry standards.
  • Assist with the creation of BIM/VDC project contract language for bidding, buyout, and consultant agreements.
  • Common Data Environment
    • Select and maintain BIM/VDC file sharing software for model exchanges.
    • Support file management and organization in project software.
    • Define and create Facilities documentation management and storage strategies.
    • Assist with the management strategy for as-built drawing databases and standardization.
    • Train project and sustaining facilities teams on the use of document management software and workflows.
  • Assist with the update and incorporation of new designs into the existing facility models.
  • Lead and/or Manage:
    • Production of quality models to facilitate dimensioned drawings for field use and installation of manufacturing tools.
    • BIM to field as-built verification process.

Qualifications

Minimum requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Engineering Technology, Construction Management, Architecture/Architectural Technology, Computer Aided Drafting and Design, Computer Science, Information Systems or related
  • 10 years of experience with Digital Delivery and BIM/VDC

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities in previous strategic leadership and / or project roles
  • Advanced Understanding:
    • Construction terminology and processes, construction materials and systems, drawings and specifications, and project delivery methods
      • BIM standards and frameworks such as ISO 19650
      • Autodesk Construction Cloud or similar platforms
      • Lifecycle data, metadata, and digital twin strategies
      • Advanced manufacturing facilities systems (mechanical, electrical, controls, etc.)
  • Advanced coordination experience working with operations, sustaining, or facility management teams
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to engage in executive level leadership, project management skills, with the ability to create, monitor, and adhere to project schedules
  • Time management skills and the ability to meet fast deadlines under pressure
  • Ability to work efficiently and switch priorities as needed to manage tasks for multiple projects simultaneously
  • Able to periodically participate in evening meetings with teams at overseas factories in different time zones
