Summary

This position provides support to the OST Public Affairs leadership and serves as project managers, subject matter experts and content providers to procure and share information, create content for DOT mission-driven activities.

The Digital Content Specialist:

  • Manages organization's digital strategy by planning and developing website and social media content.
  • Provides recommendations to implement innovative multi-media, marketing and digital communication improvement.
  • Develops and produces strategic communication materials such as news releases, fact sheets and responses to the public and media outlets.
  • Reviews technical documentation and deliverables with contractual requirements.


The Office of the Secretary of Transportation, Office of Public Affairs is seeking a candidate that has experience leading

media center and/or communications operations, coordinating resources and facilities, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while delivering high-quality results to advance DOT's mission.

Qualifications

To meet the minimum qualifications for this position, you must meet the specialized experience requirements.

To qualify for the Grade 14, you must have at least one year of experience equal or equivalent to the GS-13, it must include:

  • Experience serving as a Contracting Officer Representative (COR), managing contract performance, or leading technology and digital communication projects.
  • Experience in organizational brand awareness across digital platforms to promote the Department of Transportation (DOT) with external stakeholders.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:

  • Written and Oral Communication - Writes in a clear, concise, organized, and convincing manner for the intended audience. Makes clear and convincing oral presentations. Listens effectively; clarifies information as needed.
