Position Summary:The BoatUS Foundation is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Digital Content and Multimedia Specialist to support the BoatUS Foundation's technical and communications work by helping create, update, and execute digital content across websites, online courses, video platforms, social media, and other digital channels. This role works closely with the Foundation's Marketing and Communication Specialist and Systems Analyst to assist with web content production, multimedia asset creation, video editing, basic UI/UX improvements, and course content development. The ideal candidate is creative, detail-oriented, comfortable with digital tools, and able to translate program and communications needs into polished, accessible, user-friendly content.
Responsibilities:- Web content creation and execution: Create, edit, format, upload, and maintain website content using the organization's content management system (WordPress), ensuring content is accurate, current, visually consistent, and aligned with brand standards.
- Video editing: Edit short- and long-form video content for websites, social media, email, online courses, presentations, and campaigns, including basic trimming, captioning, audio cleanup, branding, and formatting for different platforms.
- Graphic creation: Develop simple graphics, thumbnails, icons, social media visuals, presentation assets, course visuals, and other digital materials that support program and communications goals.
- Course content creation: Support the development, formatting, updating, and organization of online course content in Rise and Articulate, including text, visuals, videos, quizzes, downloadable resources, and supporting materials.
- Quality assurance: Review digital content for accuracy, formatting, broken links, accessibility, mobile responsiveness, visual consistency, and brand alignment before publication.
- Cross-functional collaboration: Work with program, communications and technical staff to gather content needs, clarify project requirements, and ensure tasks are completed on time.
- Continuous improvement: Stay informed about digital content trends, accessibility practices, multimedia tools, and emerging technologies that could improve the organization's digital presence and learning materials.
Qualifications:
Required- Experience creating and managing digital content for websites, social media, online learning platforms, or similar channels.
- Working knowledge of content management systems, web publishing tools, and basic digital production workflows.
- Experience with video editing software and basic multimedia production.
- Experience creating digital graphics using tools such as Adobe Creative Cloud, Canva, or similar platforms.
- Strong attention to detail, with the ability to review content for accuracy, consistency, accessibility, and usability.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities.
- Strong written communication skills and the ability to organize information clearly for digital audiences.
- Collaborative working style and ability to translate feedback from technical and non-technical team members into finished digital content.
Preferred- Familiarity with HTML, CSS, accessibility standards, SEO basics, Salesforce CRM and web analytics.
- Experience supporting online course development, learning management systems, instructional content, or e-learning materials.
- Basic understanding of UI/UX principles, including user-centered design, information architecture, and accessibility best practices.
- Experience formatting video and graphics for multiple platforms, including websites, YouTube, social media, email, and online courses.
- Experience working in a nonprofit, education, outreach, boating safety, environmental, or public service setting.
- Ability to troubleshoot minor content, formatting, and publishing issues and escalate technical problems when needed.
- Strong digital content production skills, including the ability to create, format, upload, and maintain accurate and visually consistent web and multimedia content.
- Visual design and multimedia editing skills to support video, graphics, thumbnails, social media visuals, course assets, and presentation materials.
- User-focused thinking, with attention to accessibility, readability, mobile responsiveness, and digital usability.
- Strong accuracy and quality assurance skills, including the ability to review content for errors, broken links, formatting issues, brand alignment, and accessibility concerns.
- Project coordination skills, including the ability to manage multiple tasks, timelines, feedback cycles, and changing priorities.
- Creative problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot minor content, formatting, and publishing issues.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills to work effectively with program, communications, and technical staff.

Annual Salary$64,575.00 - $101,475.00
The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/ annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate. Factors include, but are not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, the selected candidate's work experience, education and training, the work location as well as market and business considerations.
