DescriptionYour role at GEI. The Digital Consulting & Solutions Lead is responsible for growing GEI's digital consulting and client-facing digital services business across its core markets of water, energy, infrastructure, and environmental consulting. This client-facing leadership role helps clients, project teams, and regional leaders identify, position, and implement digital solutions that improve business outcomes, project delivery, operational performance, and long-term client value.
Working closely with Regional Growth Leaders, Marketing, Regional Digital Strategy Leaders, regional subject matter experts, and seller-doers, this role supports the full lifecycle of client engagement - from opportunity identification and strategic pursuits through post-award program support and long-term client growth. The Digital Consulting & Solutions Lead helps translate GEI's digital capabilities into practical solutions, scalable service offerings, and go-to-market strategies that strengthen GEI's market position and create measurable client value.
This role operates as an enterprise capability enhancer and growth enabler. Client ownership, revenue, and profitability remain with GEI regions and account teams. The Digital Consulting & Solutions Lead helps strengthen pursuits, strategic accounts, and major client programs by connecting the right expertise, solutions, and resources to client needs.
Essential Responsibilities & Duties • Lead the growth and expansion of GEI's digital consulting and client-facing digital services business across strategic markets, client accounts, and growth initiatives.
• Build trusted advisor relationships with clients, Regional Growth Leaders, seller-doers, and strategic account teams to position GEI's digital capabilities and identify new opportunities.
• Lead digital strategy discussions, discovery workshops, and client engagements focused on technology adoption, operational improvement, data-driven decision-making, and business value realization.
• Develop and package client-facing digital services, solution offerings, and go-to-market approaches that support GEI's growth strategy and market priorities.
• Lead and support strategic pursuits, proposals, interviews, and account growth initiatives by identifying digital differentiators and innovative client solutions.
• Translate GEI's digital capabilities into clear business value propositions that help clients improve efficiency, reduce risk, enhance project delivery, and achieve operational objectives.
• Support major client programs after project award by identifying opportunities to expand digital services, increase client value, and connect project teams with the appropriate digital expertise and resources.
• Play a key role in scaling GEI's Digital Operating Model through advisory, enablement, and targeted execution engagements that help clients and project teams realize business value from digital solutions.
• Coordinate with Regional Digital Strategy Leaders, regional subject matter experts, and seller-doers to identify opportunities, share best practices, and improve awareness of GEI's digital capabilities across the enterprise.
• Provide market intelligence, client feedback, and strategic recommendations that support the continued evolution and commercialization of GEI's digital services portfolio.
Minimum Qualifications • 15+ years of experience within the Architecture, Engineering, Construction (AEC), infrastructure, environmental consulting, or related engineering consulting industry.
• 5+ years of experience leading business development, strategic pursuits, account growth, client engagement, digital consulting, or client-facing service offerings.
• Demonstrated experience building trusted client relationships and supporting strategic account growth within professional services, engineering consulting, or infrastructure-related industries.
• Applied or demonstrated experience with digital technologies such as AI, data and analytics, automation, digital delivery, digital twins, asset management, enterprise platforms, or related technologies.
• Proven ability to translate technical concepts into business value and communicate effectively with executives, clients, technical practitioners, and non-technical stakeholders.
• Exceptional communication, presentation, facilitation, networking, and relationship-building skills.
• Experience supporting proposal development, interviews, workshops, strategic pursuits, and client-facing business development activities.
• Experience developing, positioning, packaging, or commercializing client-facing services, solution offerings, or go-to-market strategies.
