DevTest Engineer Job Summary We are seeking a DevTest Software Engineer to build and maintain automated testing capabilities for Kaseya's endpoint management platform. This is a hands-on engineering role focused on validating system-level software, endpoint agents, device management workflows, and operating system integrations. The ideal candidate is passionate about operating systems, endpoint management, automation engineering, and software quality. You will design and develop reusable automation frameworks capable of validating functionality across multiple operating systems and thousands of endpoint scenarios while leveraging AI-assisted development tools to accelerate automation coverage and improve engineering productivity. What You Will Do • Design, develop, and maintain automation frameworks for endpoint agent validation. • Build automated tests covering installation, upgrade, rollback, policy execution, inventory collection, monitoring, patching, remote actions, scripting, and agent communications. • Create reusable test libraries and test infrastructure for Windows, macOS, Linux, and mobile platforms. • Develop automation for functional, integration, regression, performance, resiliency, and system-level testing. • Validate endpoint agent behavior across supported operating systems and versions. • Build automated validation for OS upgrades, endpoint recovery scenarios, disconnected operation, and self-healing capabilities. • Develop automation for MDM and endpoint management workflows. • Verify interoperability with native operating system services, security frameworks, and device management APIs. • Develop large-scale automated regression suites for endpoint releases. • Improve release quality through automated validation of agent stability, performance, resource utilization, and security. • Identify quality risks and proactively expand test coverage. • Troubleshoot complex defects through log analysis, debugging, telemetry, and endpoint diagnostics. • Reproduce customer-reported issues across diverse endpoint environments. • Partner with Support and Engineering teams to perform root-cause analysis. • Create automation preventing recurrence of production issues. • Utilize AI coding assistants and coding agents to generate and maintain automation assets. • Apply AI tools for test generation, code analysis, debugging, and coverage expansion. • Validate AI-generated tests and automation through engineering best practices. What You Bring • 5+ years of hands-on software engineering, SDET, DevTest, or QA Automation experience. • Strong programming skills in C#, Python, Java, C++, Go, or similar languages. • Experience building automation frameworks and test infrastructure. • Deep understanding of at least one platform - Windows, macOS, Linux • Strong understanding of operating system internals - Processes, Services/Daemons, Filesystems, Networking, Security Models, Privilege Management • Experience testing endpoint agents, system software, security software, or device management products. • Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills. • Experience using virtualization platforms and automated device provisioning. • Exposure to Microsoft Intune, Apple MDM, Android Enterprise, or Linux device management. • Familiarity with PowerShell, Bash, Python, and operating system scripting technologies.
