Full Job Description
DevOps/Software Engineer

An active TS//SCI clearance with polygraph is required for this role

About this Role

You'll join a Mission Intelligence team maintaining and advancing a business intelligence platform that drives data-driven decisions across the enterprise. This is a mission-essential system, and keeping it running reliably is your first priority - but that's far from all you'll be doing.

As a DevOps/Software Engineer on this team, you'll wear multiple hats: site reliability engineer, software developer, and analytic builder. You'll work to incrementally mature the platform using SRE principles, contribute production-grade code in Java and Python, and develop analytics that combine, normalize, and enrich large data sets to surface meaningful, mission-centric insights. You'll also design and implement ETL workflows, integrate new tools and technologies into the platform, and bring your technical judgment to bear when engaging with stakeholders to understand what they need and deliver solutions that matter.

This role has a mentorship dimension, too - you'll help guide more junior engineers and data scientists as the team continues to grow. Strong written communication is a must, as you'll be expected to contribute to both internal documentation and customer-facing materials.

This position is located in Ft. Meade, Maryland.

Requirements
  • 12 years of experience in software engineering, or a B.S. in a technical discipline plus 8 years of experience
  • Production-grade software development experience in Java and Python
  • Experience or familiarity with site reliability engineering (SRE) principles
  • Familiarity with customer authentication and authorization platforms and standards
  • Experience productizing software as containers and deploying with Docker and/or Kubernetes
  • Confidence with Git and GitLab for version control
  • Confidence with basic to intermediate Linux system administration
  • Strong customer service mindset
  • Willingness to contribute to internal and customer-facing written documentation
  • Active TS//SCI clearance with polygraph

Preferred Skills
  • Familiarity with Apache NiFi
  • Familiarity with Elasticsearch and Kibana
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes
  • Knowledge of map-reduce analytic environments (e.g., Hadoop)
  • Knowledge of end-to-end SIGINT collection and analysis systems
  • Experience with production CNO capabilities and operations
  • Experience with frontend UI development

  • Up to 2 snow days, paid!
  • We'll quadruple (4x!) the first 6% you contribute to your 401(k), giving you up to a 24% company match. Contributing less than 6%? Unclaimed matches come right back to you as extra income, giving you a guaranteed 24% that goes to your retirement, to your paycheck, or both. C'mon now!
