Position SummaryBase-2 Solutions is seeking a DevOps Software Engineer to join a high-energy team building and deploying a cutting-edge technology stack in support of a mission-critical data discovery platform modernization effort. The role involves contributing to scalable, containerized microservices architecture and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Deploy, triage, and maintain a production big-data pipeline built on Kubernetes, Elasticsearch, and Kafka.
- Enhance and maintain CI/CD pipelines and DevOps automation to accelerate development and improve reliability.
- Design and support scalable, redundant infrastructure across physical and virtual environments.
- Use Helm to configure Kubernetes deployments for new features and evolving requirements.
- Partner with Systems Engineers to architect solutions for new capabilities.
- Contribute technical input to engineering documentation, diagrams, and models.
- Participate in Agile release planning, scrums, design sessions, bug triage, and related team activities.
Required Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience) with 8+ years of relevant experience; 6+ years with a Master's.
- Strong Linux proficiency.
- Hands-on experience with containers and Kubernetes.
- Experience with CI/CD orchestration and GitLab.
- Familiarity with Elasticsearch, Logstash, and Kibana.
- Demonstrated success working in cross-functional engineering environments.
Preferred Qualifications- Experience operating systems at scale.
- Knowledge of Agile methodologies.
- Development experience (Bash, PowerShell, SALT, Python, Groovy, Java, etc.).
- Experience supporting enterprise or production systems.
- Familiarity with Kafka or other messaging systems (AMQP, JMS).
- Familiarity with Kubernetes monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana).
- Familiarity with GPU-based Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with SALT for deployment automation.
- Familiarity with Helm / Helmfile.
- Familiarity with Nexus.
Required Education and Experience Equivalency- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience) with 8+ years of relevant experience.
- Master's degree with 6+ years of relevant experience.
