About the Role

We are seeking a DevOps Engineer to design, secure and scale our hybrid energy trading infrastructure. In this role, you will bridge the gap between algorithmic trading desks, risk management systems and core operations. You will architect seamless CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure that connect high-performance on-premises clusters with scalable Amazon Web Services (AWS) environments. Your mission is to maximize system uptime and guarantee ultra-low latency data delivery during volatile trading windows.

Due to the international footprint of this team, this position can be based in either our Berlin office in Germany, or our Houston TX office in North America.

This will be a full-time role, owning the following responsibilities:
  • Designing, architecting and building scalable environments in AWS mainly, but also Azure.
  • Establishing comprehensive observability through logging, metrics, tracing and alerting.
  • Building and optimizing CI/CD pipelines using modern tools, implementing automated testing, security scanning and deployment orchestration.
  • Taking care of CI/CD system, building and deploying pipelines.
  • Leading DevSecOps initiatives; including infrastructure hardening, IAM policies, secrets management, facilitating compliance automation and security scanning in build pipelines.
  • Assisting with containerizing applications and managing container orchestration.
  • Working with international team members to ensure efficacy, compatibility and performance across the application stack.
  • Establishing DevOps best practices, standards, strategy and processes for DevOps adoption across Engelhart.


About You

This person will be an experienced DevOps professional, confident in Python scripting and willing to work in an international team.

The following experiences and skills are essential for application:
  • DevOps, SRE or Cloud Infrastructure Engineering experience with proven expertise in AWS.
  • Tangible experience with Linux, Containers and related technologies.
  • Expertise in Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform and AWS CDK.
  • Advanced proficiency with major DB platforms: SQL Server, MySQL, Amazon Aurora
  • Strong programming and scripting skills in python, bash, terraform, AWS CDK.
  • Excellent written communication, problem solving, and process management skills

In addition, the following is not required, but highly desirable for this role.
  • Experience with Atlassian tools (Bitbucket, JIRA, Confluence)
  • Experience with CI/CD in a hybrid Cloud Environment
  • Experience with serverless architectures
  • Setup configuration and infrastructure on principle of everything as code
  • Backend testing framework familiarity
  • Familiarity with Finance or FinTech Industry
