Eaton's switchgear modernization offers cost-effective renovation to existing equipment, with minimal power interruptions and without total replacement. Our solutions extend the useful life of aging electrical power systems by providing safe and reliable reconditioning of existing equipment, as well as new replacement circuit breakers and other components that improve reliability and safety in existing power systems.

In this role you will:

  • Design and develop custom retrofit solutions for vintage switchgear using CAD, including technical drawings, schematics, bills of materials, and assembly documentation.
  • Test, troubleshoot, and validate electrical, electronic, and mechanical systems to ensure solutions meet customer requirements and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with engineers, manufacturing teams, and customers to resolve technical challenges, support control system requirements, and ensure manufacturability.
  • Receive, inspect, assemble, and produce final solutions while maintaining accurate records and documentation.
  • Support quoting, application engineering, and proposal development for customer projects.
  • Occasionally travel to job sites to oversee installation and implementation of solutions.
  • Attend product and technical training to maintain a high level of industry and product knowledge.

This role is designed to prepare you for both technical and future leadership roles at Eaton. As a new engineer, you will be provided with a structured training and development curriculum; a blend of instructor-led, virtual classrooms, eLearning courses, and on-the-job training provided by expert mentors and team members to assist you in developing your career.
