What you'll do:
The Marketing Development Program offers product, marketing and leadership training. This 2-year rotational program includes two 1-year rotations, providing exposure to various marketing and sales enabling roles across Eaton's product lines. Participants will learn to prioritize and promote electrical products and solutions to distributors, contractors, consultants, and end customers.
Potential Assignments Include:
• Division Sale Engineer
• Product Engineer
• Business/Market Analyst
Division Sale Engineer - Role and Responsibilities:
1. Establish and maintain the highest possible commercial relations with present and potential customers by effectively employing skills in salesmanship, application engineering, product knowledge, and knowledge of customers' business and organization
2. Interpret incoming orders for proper content, price, compliance with terms and conditions, and other requirements prior to acceptance at the division
3. Review customer needs and specifications to determine a minimum bill of material, most competitive price level, and shipment cycle within the assigned industry or market segment.
4. Coordinate with Customer Service to ensure resources are available to support customer commitments and interpret incoming RFQs for proper content and price
5. Advise as a technical and commercial liaison between field sales, end users/customers, distributors, and other product line functions such as engineering, manufacturing, purchasing, scheduling, and management.
6. Recommend changes or modifications in products, policies, or procedures to improve productivity, including "value engineering" alternatives.
7. Develop and present programs to promote the acceptance of products and/or services at customer locations, sales offices, trade shows, training seminars, and corporate meetings.
8. Maintain an active role in the formation and execution of sales plans through developing and evaluating competitive situations, reporting new product requirements, tracking negotiations, analyzing success/failure, and developing accurate and timely monthly forecasts
9. Complete all requested reports in a professional and timely manner.
10. Coordinate special projects at the direction of the Sales Manager or other applicable product line management.
Product Engineer - - Role and Responsibilities:
1. Develop and maintain customer-facing marketing collateral, including website feedback, product specifications, brochures, and videos.
2. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize quote and order fulfillment processes.
3. Monitor and analyze product performance and marketing data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
4. Support Voice-of-Customer (VOC) initiatives, including developing and gathering feedback from prospective customers in key market segments.
5. Lead best practices for critical customer documentation, such as Instruction Booklets and parts catalogues.
6. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including design engineering, sales, marketing, operations, and supply chain to develop new products or modify existing products to meet customer requirements and market needs.
Business/Market Analyst - Role and Responsibilities:
1. Analyze market trends and competitive landscape to identify opportunities and challenges.
2. Develop and implement strategic plans and objectives aligned with the company's mission and values.
3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment between strategy and operations.
4. Present strategic recommendations to senior leadership and stakeholders.
5. Measure the effectiveness of implemented strategies and make necessary adjustments.
6. Lead and manage strategic projects and initiatives.
7. Identify and address issues and risks that could affect the achievement of strategic objectives.
After completion of the program, your experience and newly acquired skills could lead you in a variety of leadership career paths within marketing, sales, manufacturing, or operations.
Qualifications:
Required (Basic) Qualifications:
• Must have a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution with a graduation date before August 2027
• Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8

• Must have a minimum of one internship or co-op experience or an equivalent of 3 months of work experience completed at the time of this application
• Must be geographically flexible to relocate within the United States
Preferred Qualifications:
• Overall cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher
• Demonstrated leadership experience within campus and/or community
• Ability to speak a second language
• Enrolled in an engineering or business degree from an accredited institution
Skills:
Position Criteria:
• The assignment will be in an Eaton facility including: Asheville, NC, Fayetteville, NC, Greenwood, SC, or Portland, OR
• This role may include travel (up to 25%) within a local region as determined by the Assignment manager
• This role may require the employee to maintain a valid and unrestricted driver's license
