Full Job Description
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES Design, build, and maintain reliable, scalable applications on Linux servers across both on-premises and cloud environments to support internally and externally developed applications for multinational gaming company. Partner with development teams by providing infrastructure guidance and support from the early stages of product development. Collaborate with engineers across peer teams to develop solutions that meet operational goals, leveraging automation and streamlined processes. Identify and submit software fixes for issues within areas of expertise or operational responsibility. Own and drive key performance indicators (KPIs) related to reliability, resiliency, durability, and uptime, while contributing to the definition of service level objectives (SLOs). Lead efforts in requirements gathering, test plan development and implementation, quality reviews, and resolution of operational issues. Troubleshoot, evaluate, and resolve system and application challenges. Develop automation to reduce errors, improve CI/CD processes, and enhance developer efficiency. Conduct peer reviews of solutions to ensure adherence to best practices and internal standards. Implement and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools, including Puppet, CloudFormation, Terraform, and CDK. Utilize expertise in AWS container services, including EKS and ECS, leveraging cloud computing best practices to support infrastructure needs. Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation to support and troubleshoot products and solutions across multiple environments. Position may include additional duties that utilize the required skills. Telecommuting permitted up to 60%; employee must reside within normal commuting distance of company's office in Redmond, Washington. This position is eligible for a semi-annual discretionary performance bonus, and a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and paid time off. SUMMARY OF REQUIREMENTS Requires Master's or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field, and two years of experience in software development, including experience in: Assisting in the deployment and management of AWS cloud resources, including EC2 instances, S3 buckets, and RDS databases, leveraging cloud computing best practices to support infrastructure needs; Implementing and managing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools, including AWS CloudFormation and Terraform, to automate the provisioning and configuration of resources to improve efficiency; Implementing software engineering best practices for the full software development life cycle, including requirements gathering, coding standards, peer code reviews, and source control management; Utilizing Python, Java, C#, and JavaScript for data management and JIRA for task tracking; and Supporting build, test, and deployment processes using continuous integration tools, and working within development environments, including Visual Studio. Telecommuting permitted up to 60%; employee must reside within normal commuting distance of company's office in Redmond, Washington. This position is not open to fully remote status at this time. Applicants must be legally eligible to work in the United States to be considered. Visa sponsorship is not available for this role. This position includes the base pay range listed below, potential for a semi-annual discretionary performance bonus, and a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and paid time off.
