Full Job Description
Developer Relations Team

We're building one of the largest payment platforms in the world - at the exact moment the ground is shifting beneath it. AI agents are increasingly discovering, evaluating, and integrating with platforms on developers' behalf, and are projected to transact on payments at a scale that rivals humans. That makes Developer Relations one of the highest-impact teams at Adyen: we directly shape how both developers and their AI agents build on our platform.

Our mission is to make Adyen the easiest platform to integrate with - for humans and agents alike. We own the quality of the developer-facing content that people and agents build from (code snippets, integration examples, documentation quality), we surface developer friction with evidence and drive fixes across the company, and we're making Adyen's developer surfaces agent-legible and agent-reliable as an explicit quality bar. We're a small, senior, high-ownership team, which means a strong hire genuinely shapes the function.

We are looking for a Senior Developer Advocate to join the team, and contribute to:
  • Building the source material developers and agents rely on - high-quality, discoverable integration examples and code snippets across languages, at the bar our strategy demands. This is the foundation both human developers and AI agents build from, so quality, correctness, and discoverability matter more than volume - and keeping it current is part of the job, because stale content misleads agents as much as people.
  • Making Adyen agent-ready - helping ensure our docs, snippets, and developer surfaces are legible and reliable for AI agents and AI-assisted developer workflows. As agents increasingly integrate on developers' behalf, this is one of the most consequential shifts in our industry, and you will help lead this transformation.

What you'll do:
  • You will advocate for developers (and AI agents) internally by identifying friction points and driving cross-functional improvements.
  • You will create high-quality technical content, including integration guides, sample apps, and code snippets.
  • You will collaborate closely with product and engineering teams to ensure our APIs and tools are intuitive and reliable.
  • You will engage with the developer community, representing Adyen at events, conferences, and online forums.
  • You will champion documentation quality and surface developer friction with actionable evidence.

Who you are:
  • Currently working as a Senior Developer Advocate, Software Engineer, or at a similar level, with a strong grasp of APIs, developer tools, and modern integration patterns.
  • You are passionate about developer experience and reducing friction for both human developers and AI tools.
  • You have great communication skills and can distill complex technical concepts into clear, engaging, and accurate content.
  • You are a proactive problem solver who enjoys taking ownership of projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • You are skilled at collaborating with various people, including senior leaders, Product Managers, and Software Engineers.
  • Open to some domestic and international travel.

Minimum qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience in software development, developer relations, or a related technical field.
  • Full professional proficiency in English.
  • This role is based out of our San Francisco office. We are an office-first company and value in-person collaboration; we do not offer remote-only roles.

The annual base salary range for this role is $169,000 - $232,000; to learn more about our compensation philosophy, please click here.
