  • Travel to audit third-party detailing facilities to ensure compliance.

Description

This position as Southwest Steel, LLC's, Detailing Manager responsibility is to manage the Detailing Department. You will be helping to achieve Southwest Steel's mission of growth, development, and high customer satisfaction. This candidate must be a dedicated, knowledgeable leader in detailing.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Verify all departmental Safety Guidelines, Procedures, and PPE requirements are met and in use.
  • Oversite, writing, updating, and maintaining the company detailing manual.

• Oversite and auditing of all third-party detailing firms used by Southwest Steel.
• Vetting and procurement of new third-party detailing firms.
• Plan, assign, direct and review work of Drafter/Detailers for in-house detailers.
• Assist in assigning and monitoring work of outside detailing firms.
• Traveling to audit third-party detailing firms.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Grow, develop, and mentor Detailing Associates

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. • 10 Years' drafting/detailing experience, with the majority in stairs, handrails, and miscellaneous metals.
• Minimum of 2 years in management role.
• 5 years' experience using Advance Steel, Tekla Structures, SDS/2 or equivalent 3D steel modeling software.
• Ability to communicate verbally and in writing with engineering and fabrication personnel.
• Experience with providing information on steel fabrication or manufacturing equipment utilizing CAD capabilities.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering, architecture, or construction management preferred, but not required if candidate meets required work experience. Less experience can be substituted with education.
• Detailing Stairs, handrail, miscellaneous metals, ornamental nonferrous metals, and structural steel.
• Knowledge of modeling software such as Revit, SDS2, Tekla Structures, Advance Steel, AutoCAD.
• Advanced knowledge of AISC Detailing standards and AWS codes.
• Ability to interpret architectural and structural design documents and ensure accurate execution.
• Managing multiple projects
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, BlueBeam. Mavis Works, Revizto, ACC(Forma), Trimble Connect, Newforma.
  • Must be self-motivated, initiative-taker, capable of setting and managing multiple key priorities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to communicate among construction, technical and non-technical personnel, both internally and outside the company.
