Full Job Description
You are:

As a Design to Value Consultant, you will support cross-functional teams in identifying, analyzing, and executing product and cost optimization opportunities. You'll contribute to DtV workshops, product teardowns, cost modeling efforts, and detailed analyses that uncover actionable insights. Working closely with client stakeholders, engineers, sourcing teams, and designers, you'll help shape recommendations that improve product value, quality, and profitability.

You will collaborate with teams across industries to develop DtV strategies, evaluate product architectures, build should-cost models, and support value engineering initiatives. You will also contribute to project deliverables, internal knowledge development, and lab-based analysis activities.

The work:
  • Conduct product, cost, and design analyses to identify value improvement opportunities using DtV and value engineering methodologies.
  • Support the execution of DtV workshops, including preparing materials, analyzing inputs, and synthesizing insights into clear recommendations.
  • Perform should-cost modeling, cost breakdowns, and benchmarking to evaluate product cost drivers and alternative design options.
  • Participate in product teardowns and lab-based assessments to analyze components, materials, and manufacturing approaches.
  • Support cross-functional teams-engineering, procurement, operations-in evaluating product redesign and optimization concepts.
  • Develop clear, data-backed presentations and deliverables that communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with project leads to manage workstreams, track progress, and ensure high-quality outputs.
  • Contribute to internal capability building through knowledge documentation, tool development, and best-practice sharing within the DtV team.
  • Mentor junior team members, share best practices, and contribute to internal capability building.

This role requires working onsite in the Peachtree Corners (Atlanta) lab environment to support product teardown and hands-on activities

Here's what you need:
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in engineering, product development, manufacturing, strategic sourcing, supply chain, or operations
  • Strong analytical and structured problem-solving skills, with experience working with complex datasets and quantitative analyses
  • Exposure to cost modeling, basic CAD interpretation, product architecture analysis, or engineering design concepts
  • Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams, communicate clearly, and synthesize information into structured outputs
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent (minimum 12 years) work experience. (If associate degree, must have a minimum of 6 years' work experience)

Bonus points if:
  • Experience supporting consulting projects or structured problem-solving engagements
  • Exposure to Direct Materials Procurement or Strategic Sourcing
  • You've worked with cost-engineering tools, CAD models, or manufacturing/production environments
  • You've participated in product teardowns, value engineering, or design reviews
  • You have experience developing business cases or evaluating cost/benefit trade-offs
  • Strong analytical problem-solver with experience structuring complex datasets, building business cases, and translating insights into clear recommendations
