OverviewMcGuireWoods LLP is seeking a skilled and experienced Graphic Design Manager to lead our in-house design team and uphold the firm's visual identity across all touchpoints. Reporting to the Manager of Brand Communications, this role this role serves as a vital creative partner to our internal clients, blending exceptional stakeholder communication with hands-on design execution. The ideal candidate is a collaborative leader who inspires designers to do their best work, sets a clear vision and strategy, and ensures projects are executed with speed, precision, and consistency. This role requires balancing multiple priorities under tight deadlines while fostering creativity and high-quality output across the team.
Responsibilities- Set design vision and strategy while overseeing execution of day-to-day projects.
- Lead and mentor a team of designers, encouraging collaboration and growth.
- Collaborate with the Manager of Brand Communications to translate brand strategy into compelling, consistent visuals across print and digital.
- Manage multiple high-volume, time-sensitive projects while maintaining quality.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to deliver creative solutions that meet business needs.
- Support larger initiatives such as brand refreshes, campaigns, and rebranding efforts.
Qualifications- 8-10+ years of professional design experience, with proven success in a senior or lead role. Experience in the legal industry is strongly preferred.
- Proven experience mentoring and managing design teams.
- Strong portfolio showcasing brand systems, creative direction, and execution across print and digital.
- Advanced skills in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) and PowerPoint.
- Experience in motion graphics, video editing, and rebranding efforts a plus.
- Excellent time management, organization, and multitasking abilities.
- Bachelor's degree in graphic design or related field required.
- Interest in using innovative AI technology, including Harvey and Copilot, to support efficient high-impact work.
