Qualifications

• Four-year degree in Engineering or related field
• PE License preferred
• Minimum 3 years' experience
• Basic knowledge of applicable systems design, such as fire suppression, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, etc.
• Ability to read construction documents
• Strong verbal and written technical communication skills
• Strong computer skills, including CADD and Microsoft Office Products, such as Excel

Responsibilities

• Performs complex modeling, drawings and specifications for HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and fire protection systems
• Calculates heating/cooling loads, equipment selection, sizing, friction loss, and hydraulic requirements
• Prepares preliminary redline design layouts for estimating
• May oversee a single project phase
• Guides less experienced engineers
• Conducts on-site field surveys for design and engineering data
• Writes technical documents and responses to RFIs
• Ensures code compliance in all designs
