Full Job Description
Description: Test Engineer -

Designs major components or major portions of a functional system or technically advanced prototype promotional or specific products. Develop or improve products and facilitate manufacturing operations. Develops basic data and makes preliminary layouts sketches and notes necessary to present design proposal. Investigates pertinent design factors such as ease of manufacture availability of materials and equipment interchangeability replace ability strength-weight efficiency and contractual specification requirements and cost. Coordinates with other organizations affected by design development. Makes layouts of assemblies and details parts of devices mechanisms structures and products. Checks completed layouts and drawings for clarity completeness conformity to standards procedures specifications and accuracy of calculations and dimensioning. Identifies design errors omissions and other deficiencies and recommends revisions and/or improvements in design layout to responsible engineers or designers.

Key activities you will accomplish in this role:

In this dynamic role you will:
• Participate in requirements analysis, configuration determination, design, alterations, material procurement, manufacturing, test and acceptance for a wide variety of electrical and electromechanical test systems and multifunction integrated test equipment in support of the Program.
• Mentor Junior engineers, interface extensively with out customers, as well as senior leadership.
• Create/update project/process documentation that align to project requirements.

Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Lead the design, procurement, assembly, test and verification of our automated test systems, including data review and trending.
• Develop hardware requirements from subsystem to all locally assigned support equipment test systems.
• Interface with suppliers, customer and internal design teams to provide cost effective and low risk solutions.
• Develop test system design documentation to communicate proposed designs to internal design and business teams, vendors and customers.
• Support, as required, Failure Review Board activities through closure.

To be effective in this role, you will need:
• Experience in both design and test of electrical hardware
• 3+ years of professional experience for this role.
• You will need to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret Clearance, thus US Citizenship is required.

Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited college or a related discipline or equivalent experience/combined education
• Hardware development experience
• Strong technical background with Automated Test Equipment (ATE) or other similar systems.
• Experience with interconnect design
• Experience in one or more of the following: Creo, Windchill, Zuken, Pspice (PLM Systems)
• Experience with product life cycle (development, deployment, retirement)
• Issue Tracking experience

Desired Skills
• Capability to lead a team responsible for development and test of integrate test systems, and experience as Subject Matter Engineer or equivalent.
• Experience with Telemetry Data Processing (TDP)
• Experience working with RF
• Demonstrated an ability to lead/coordinate with small diverse teams in development of tech products.
• Experience reading schematic diagrams and other technical documentations
• Experience troubleshooting System level issues.
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
• Proficient in AI prompting as it applies to this position and practice.
