Responsibilities

  • Achieve project objectives for scope, cost, schedule, quality, and risk.
  • Manage the Accelerator Program Delivery team to foster cohesion.
  • Build and sustain stakeholder relationships within and outside the program.
  • Establish governance and execution plans, ensuring effective oversight.
  • Prepare briefings for the Executive Capital Committee, managing program interfaces.
  • Oversee contractor performance to meet contractual obligations and benchmarks.
  • Coordinate change management decisions with the Change Management Board.
  • Lead monthly Program Progress Reviews and report on program performance.
  • Interface with PMO and Technical Shared Services for effective resourcing.
  • Issue monthly program progress reports and update performance dashboards.
  • Support the delivery of the overall Pearson LIFT Program with other directors.
  • Coach and mentor GTAA staff for career development.

Overview

Your role

  • Responsible for the achievement of the Accelerator Program to scope, cost, schedule, quality, and risk objectives.
  • Managing the Accelerator Program Delivery team consisting of both OR2 and GTAA staff members to create one cohesive team.
  • Managing stakeholder relationships both internal and external to the program, working collaboratively with the stakeholder relations team.
  • Establishing the program's governance and execution plan and overseeing its effective implementation.
  • Managing the interface between the program and the Executive Capital Committee including preparing necessary Exec Briefings.
  • Managing the contractor in line with their contractual obligations to successfully deliver scope, cost, schedule, quality, and risk requirements.
  • Coordinates with the Change Management Board with respect to change management decisions and escalations.
  • Leads monthly Program Progress Reviews and reports against the required metrics to the Program Delivery Director.
  • Manages the interface with the PMO Services and Technical Shared Services teams to ensure the appropriate resourcing, coordination, and integration.
  • Issues monthly program progress reports and updates PMIS progress and performance dashboards.
  • Coordinates with the Program Delivery Director and the other Program Directors to effectively support the delivery of the overall Pearson LIFT Program.
  • Coaching, mentoring, and supporting the career development of GTAA staff.


About you

  • Recognized degree and professional designation in a relevant field considered an asset.
  • Typically, a minimum of 20 years of professional experience with 15 in a program management leadership role.
  • Minimum 10 years of professional experience in large international airport projects or equivalent infrastructure programs greater than CAD $2BN.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing large multi-party teams and assessing the competency requirements of the team.
  • Demonstrable experience in managing senior stakeholder relationships and providing strategic level reporting to enable effective decision making.
  • Demonstrable experience of leading or playing a key role in contract negotiations.
  • Able to demonstrate significant expertise in program management and/or applicable technical areas to deliver complex programs.
  • Familiarity of working in collaborative project environments and a thorough working knowledge and experience of progressive contracting models incl. Progressive Design Build and Target Price.
  • Strong technical capability in all project phases, including design, planning, construction, operations, and maintenance preferably large program/projects.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills including the ability to facilitate meeting/workshops with large groups of stakeholders.
